Need Advice for 2 eBay Items I Won

#1 - CIB Super Castlevania IV

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/150918980413

When I won this it didn't have a price for international shipping (it was coming from the UK - however it did say in the desciption it will ship int.) so I requested a total after I won, as saw as I saw the new total I paid it. A few days past and I got this message:

"Hi

I'm afraid there's a problem with postage, I can't send it recorded delivery to a po box address, the only way to do it is international special delivery which costs £55-60. If you can give me a home address to post this to then I can post it out recorded. This game is worth too much to not have it recorded or insured, so neither of us loose out if it gets lost in the mail.

Let me know, thanks"

I replied minuites after with:

"You should be able to ship via International Sign Off, I've bought a billion things with that shipping method. Everything that gets sent to my home address gets redirected to my post office box, not to mention neither of us are covered if you ship to an address that isn't listed on my Paypal"

That was 3 weeks ago and still heard nothing from the seller.

#2 - CIB Chrono Trigger + Maps + NA SNES inserts

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/221119655231?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648#ht_3617wt_858

I bought this item from Germany. I got the package yesterday and the bottom corners of the cartridge have been cut off (Maybe as an attempt to fit inside a super famicom?) anyways everything else was as they said. So what should I do about this? Get a full refund? If a seller doesn't descipe an item right do they pay for the shipping for me to send it to them?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreiated.

  • Everything else is so nice on the rest I'd just sell that copy of Chrono and get another loose cart to go with your set. The money lost in shipping wont be worth sending it back to the seller. If hes willing to give youa partial refund go that route of course but the rest of it does look really nice.
  • Ask partial refund.
  • shipping price quoted was a joke. i ship to oz from ireland regulaly and never came close to 60. unless hes fedex or ups shipping it to you id tell him to quote you again. i recently sent 3 large heavy graphic novels in only jiffy for 14 euro recorded postage express ship.

    hope this helps.

How would I go about wording it? I don't want to come accross as pushy nor get a full refund and send it back.

I think he might be trying to use FedEx, but it's extremely unnecessery since Castlevania IV isn't anything too special. If he doesn't get a move on soon I'll message him and if nothing gets done I'll raise a dispute to get my money back. But from my understanding is that with eBay if the buyer pays what's quoted he isn't obligated to pay a sent more.  Thanks for the help.

    Something like this:

    Hello,

Item I received is not as described - the bottom corners of the cartridge have been cut off.

As I'm collector, then damage reduce value of game and I don't want copy in that condition to my collection.

Please let me know, what to do?

    With best,

    your eBay name

I hope thats help and good luck !
  • Regarding number 1: He's correct, he can't send International signed for to a PO box address as Royal mail doesn't allow it, he could send it via Airsure though, that should cost around £16-£20 GBP.

If all else fails, ask if he'll send it to the UK, if you want he can send it to me and I'll send it straight onto you (postage must be paid), I've done this for many Australian members here, PM if you want to talk about it
