Hey everyone,

Pretty much on the CD door, there appears to be some gloss/super glue (to my best guess) and I need a hand removing it. I don't want to use any removers that will eat the plastic or cause more damage. Someone sugested using Vaseline, I gave that a shot, but not sure If i did it right or not. I applied a layer onthe arear and kept rubbing it with some paper towel, after about 15 minutes i wiped it clean and it's still there
maybe I didn't wait long enough?

Any help would be greatly appeciated!
Thanks everyone!!!

Gasoline is great for super glue, Laquer thinner is too but I am not sure how it will react to the plastic, it should be fine but it is a try at your own risk.
You could try sticking the lid in the freezer, that will cause the glue to get brittle, then hit it with a hot hair dryer and use a small plastic knife or blade to chip it off.
Unfortunately your glue is so thin that this'll be tough to pull off cleanly.
Superglue gets really brittle when it dries, so you can essentially just scratch it off.

I've always had good luck removing super glue by gently scratching at it with my fingernail.

You know, I've done the same in the past, but this tme I cant get anything to flake or anything to looko like any kinda improvement... I wonder if its not glue at all on the machine, I wonder if its just the remains of someone who removed glue or stickey residue with a acetone product and what im seeing is just melted into the plastic now... but then again.. if that was true... would it be shiney? hmmm...

Yeah, then it is quite possible that it is not superglue at all. It might be a much stronger adhesive, or even the result of some kind of powerful solvent melting and smoothing out the plastic.
How does it feel? Is it noticeably raised above the regular plastic surface? Is it really smooth? Can you feel any kind of edge?
