Need some Japanese writing on a t-shirt translated!

I like the shirt, I'm just not sure what it says . I'm assuming it's Japanese based on the art style James is depicted in, but I'm not really sure. All I know is, I can't read it! Any help is appreciated!

Well, here's the photo:

  • This is just a horrible guess, but maybe something along the lines of "gotta drink em all!"
  • One rotten apple spoils the barrel!

    Liquor.

I used Google Translate, so this is probably a little off.
  • ^ That's what I got. The last character can also be either Liquor or Sake.
  • Where'd you find that anyway? That's a pretty rad shirt dude.
  • It's a Japanese proverb. It translates to something like "when something is mixed with vermillion, it turns red." It has a meaning similar to "one bad apple spoils the bunch." As others have said, the last character means sake or alcohol.
  • It also seems to be a play on words. The Chinese reading of sake is "shu," which is the same as the reading of vermillion, so it is also saying that when you get mixed up with liquor you turn red.
  • Awesome, I appreciate the help! I think that's a pretty good saying for James at the time this was probably made up, ha. The shirt came from feeBay for those wondering.
