The Art of Final Fantasy IX - Bradygames Artbook

Hi,

Tonight, I got a delivery through the post (Yes, at night ) Opening it up like a kid at christmas I was thrilled to find my ' The Art of Final Fantasy IX' had finally arrived.

I ordered this from a US store over Amazon.co.uk, It stated the item was in'Acceptable' condition. But the item is pretty much mint!, there is a bit of a bend on one of the corners, but I have placed it under a ton of heavy books to level that out. But I was expecting massive tares or missing pages. It's all perfectly intact.

This book has always gone for over £40, one day I had a little look on Amazon by chance to see it at £10, there was another one going for £20 in 'Good' condition, but considering the price, I thought I'd take my chances and it really payed off!

Here it is:

Here is a copy of my Final Fantasy IX collection, which in my eye is complete now

Incase any of you are curious to what it is like inside I found this video for you, it goes into more detail than the finished artwork by Amano/Nomura. It's feels like a colelction of drawings from the pre-production office at Squaresoft, I love it!

I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan, it's essentially why I play games so to recieve this is as good as a collectors item can get for me.

  • very cool dude! thats a nice looking collection there and a great find for an awesome price!
  • Wow, beautiful FFIX collection you got there. I'm honestly jealous .

I feel the same as you about the FF-games and love the art book, didn't even know it existed. Maybe I'll look out for a copy too.

    Enjoy it
  • Thanks, I'm so pleased to have finally got it, I also recently went to see a Distant Worlds concert live, the best part was I was right behind the orchestra so I could see all the instruments being played, it was the best.

I am now waiting on an American guide for Dirge of Cerberus (There was never a UK one to my knowledge) and I am still on the look out for A Crisis Core one (Once again Bradygames - US) then my Final Fantasy VII collection will be complete. I don't really buy into merchandise so it's just the games, soundtracks, guides and artbooks for me.

EDIT: I just went on Amazon and saw the guide for £7, it usually reaches the £20 mark so I thought I'd just go for it. I'll be posting pictures of my FFVII collection and maybe my whole FF colelction very soon
  • Still waiting for a Distant Worlds concert to be played in Belgium. I can go to Paris, but that's still a 3 hour drive and most of all, they speak French and I really can't speak French, although it should be my second language.
  • Oh I traveled to London (which was roughly 3 hours too) and stayed at a hotel overnight. It was just a fantastic experience They are starting to branch out further over Europe so you may be in luck.
  • I'm now also thinking about making a collection per Final Fantasy game because of your post , thanks .

But maybe I'll start by searching Final Fantasy Origins first (for a good price)...
  • Haha no worries, however If you have yet to play the games, I recommend the PSP versions as the sprites look so much better!

I have yet to play Final Fantasy II on the PSP, but I played Final Fantasy 1 & IV and they were both fantastic. I also just bought Final Fantasy Tactics for the PSP for £4

I plan play next year all FF games versions in chronological (re-)relase order

Example: Final Fantasy (NES) -> Final Fantasy Origins (PS1) -> Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls (GBA) -> Final Fantasy (PSP)

  • Gosh, I don't know If I could do that While I love the series, playing the original versions of the NES games can be tedious. I'm content with the PSP versions of I - IV (The 3D release of FF3 was put on PSP recently - Download only) But saying that I would not want a re-released version of any FF game from VI onwards. While FFVI is the only 2D game of the lot, the presentation of the menus still looks good. while even the original versions of IV & V menu fonts can look awful. I have Final Fantasy through the FF Anthology, but I can secretly waiting for a release to the quality of the PSP titles before I play it.
  • Well I got some post today:

Both arrived in good condition, the CRISIS CORE guide even has a poster, not sure if the DoC one was meant to as well if so it's not there... Usually I would get the UK guides but there was never one released for the FF spin offs.

And here is my Final Fantasy VII collection, complete in my eye
