Need some help with a Virtual Boy Problem

Hey guys, I had a perfectly working VB that I sold on eBay.  I packed it well, but when it arrived, I got this message from the buyer "I tried playing it, the right eye is messed up and the image is shifting."  That's all the info I have.

I can only assume it was shaken around in the postal system.  Is there an easy fix here or is it permenantly messed up?

Any help would be great, I'd like to diffuse the issue with the buyer as soon as possible.

  • It is to my understanding that Virtual Boys are prone to screen glitching because the glue that affix the ribbon cables to the PCB. I think I read somewhere that even NOS systems could have glitchy displays.

Here is some information on how to fix it: http://www.projectvb.com/displayfix.html

  • Yeah, this is common. I fixed mine the "hard way" by soldering the cables, now it is rock solid. Ay VB buyer should be aware of this issue IMO.
