Here are the lists that I came up with for PS1 and PS2.  These are the games that I want in my collection, and in my opinion represent the definitive and good games on the system.  There might be some not so good games thrown in, but those are mostly for nostalgia.  For PS2 I typically only focus on exclusives, as I buy most of the multiplatform stuff on XBOX.



Let me know if I'm missing anything.  The prices next to the games are the ballpark ebay completed listing prices.  I carry the list around with me to make sure i'm getting a good deal if i see a game in the wild.  I'm not sure if it shows up here, but anything that is crossed out, i already own.

    There's also Kingdom Hearts Re Chain of Memories in USA too. You might want it to complete your ps2 Kingdom Hearts collection. And why just Silent Hill 3? 2 and 4 are also good games



    It's also Jak and Daxter and there are 4 of those games for the ps2.



    Arc the Lad has some good ps2 games. There is also Dirge of Cerberus.



    Also, Soul Calibur 2 and 3 both have different extra characters than the xbox/gamecube counterparts. And I personally recommend the Kessen series with Kessen 2 being the best imo. And Dynasty Warriors set too. But I'm a sucker for three kingdoms games.

    Rich2k4: I would definitely not say that SH4 sucks. But there was one bad thing they did about it, and that was reusing levels - basically, you go through each level twice. (With differences, ofcourse.) To some people, one bad thing about a game means everything about it is bad. Personally, there are some really nice connections to the other SH games, especially a couple of links to SH2(and actually, a link in SH2 to SH4, too!), the music is in general some of the best in the whole series(in my opinion), a few interesting characters and creatures, you've actually got a couple of completely new elements, and some new ways for the game to mess with you(which work quite well, I might add). Though it plays just like the previous games for the most parts, it has a little bit of new stuff which I'd say really works and gives a at least a small amount of variation from the "same, old thing."



    Being a huge King's Field fan, I'll have to say King's Field and King's Field II for the PS1, and King's Field: The Ancient City for the PS2 - the latter is actually a PS2 exclusive game, too. (While the two former are PS1 exclusives.) These games are hard, though, and certainly not for everyone. The spiritual predecessors to the Demon's Souls and Dark Souls games.

    If you want Shinobi for the PS2, you'll also need Nightshade! Those games go hand in hand.

    I thought Nightshade was a stand alone game on PS2. I have it but not played it yet. Is it a sequel to shinobi or just of similar story?

    I would add Fahrenheit (PS2) to the list. The game before Heavy Rain (PS3).

    Is more an interactive movie than a game (like Heavy Rain), but enjoyed it very much!!!

    It's essentially the sequel to Shinobi on PS2. It has a female lead, Hinata. But the gameplay and look are quite similair. Personally, I like Nightshade better than I do Shinobi.

    Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in North America) was on Xbox and PC also

    But it's still good game.

    I own indigo prophecy on the xbox. When it comes to ps2, like I said, i want exclusives. anything multi platform is going to the xbox.

    I had no idea that was on PS2. I rave about that game and compare it to Heavy Rain all the time...as mine is on Xbox.



    Add Skullmonkeys, Boombots and Blast Chamber for PS1.

    Gradius V, R-Type Final, Blowout, and Firefighter FD 18 for PS2.

    I found RPG Maker 2 today and it reminded me of how great 3 is. You should add the series to your list.
