NES Homebrew Price List

These don't come up for sale very often, so I thought I'd share my personal list.

THIS IS ONLY A GUIDE....things could very easily go higher or lower than listed as the volume is low.

If you have information to add or links to sales, feel free to add your 2 cents

  • I think 8 bit Xmas 2008, realistically 275 to 350

I would not sell my super nes snake for 30 bucks, I'd put that at 55 to 70, its been unavailable for a long long time.

    Rest looks good to me
  • I'll bring down 8bit Xmas 08 to $350, I know one sold for 3 and the last I saw had an asking of 4.

I thought about that with NeSnake 2 too, but it's still temp unavailable rather than discontinued. I'll put it at $50 for now.
  • if you want to add 16 bit xmas 2011 on there, i sold one for $105 a couple of weeks ago
  • Do we really need prices on all of these games? Regarding rare homebrews, it's whatever the buyer/seller is willing to pay for it. Don't forget a lot of people do private trades too. Also, if a reputable seller like retrousb still has cart X in stock, then the price is fixed until it gets OOS or discontinued.

I've got one to add to the list, Brad Smith's (rainwarrior) MOON8 cart for $55-$60.
  • Thanks for sharing! I know that if I were to sporadically want to add to or reduce my homebrew collection, I'd have no clue what to price these at, so this is a great guideline! What about adding the homebrew music carts to the list (Vegavox 1 & 2, Color Caves, etc)?

Yeah, I think we need a Guide. A lot of people do price checks on them, and the information is not regulary available on ebay. With that said it is only a guide. Things like Glider LE and UFC Lady frog are listed at issue price because I haven't seen one sell since. I wouldn't sell either for the prices listed, but it is a good starting point if someone is looking to buy or sell one. I welcome anyone with links to sales or information to contribute.

As for the music carts, I haven't followed them enough to list prices. I could add another section if others can provide the data. I also don't follow reproductions, so I don't have data on them either.

The purpose of the list is just to provide information for both buyers and sellers of Homebrew games since they are seldom on ebay.
  • I think 8 bit xmas 2010 should be higher. I dont know many or any that would sell for 100 i was thinking more like 150-175

Noted, I've been looking for more completed sales on that one too.

Glider LE, Special NeSnake LE, and UFC Lady Frog LE are probably low too. Those are issue prices and I haven't seen sales in a long time on them if ever.

This is very much still a work in progress. I wouldn't doubt a 8bit Xmas would sell 150-175, and if I see that, I'll move it up. Heck there's a bounty of $200 on an 09 and they still haven't found a seller yet. Still collecting info here, thanks for the feedback.

Edit: Well just got some PM's about some sales of LE's, and I guessed right, I have adjust Glider, NeSnake, and Lady Frog LE's
  • yeah the 8 bit xmas carts 08-10 right now demand basically what someone is willing to pay at the moment. not enough supply to get consistent sales numbers. I know that people were asking 90-100 for 8 bit xmas 11 already a couple months ago. 2009 yeah someonwhere in that 200-250 range sounds about right. 2010 like i said. If i see any sales of them ill mention it.
  • An 11 just went this week on ebay for $85. I am watching them, I do think 09 and 10 will probably be adjusted up. We'll see, I'm waiting on hearing back from some people about sales.
  • lady frogger - 850? really? i mean it's badass and all, but dayuum.

i'd say the snake penis level is probably worth the most... just one out there.

2 of them. There are twin penis level carts

    Yeah LF sold for that.

  • I have the buy prices for Vegavox, VegavoxII and Color caves (music carts) on my home database (will update this post when I get them). I have a NAGE proto cart I bought a few years back for $100, but I feel like it's "worth" more now.

also, the caveat to all of this is the price is what people are willing to pay, but it's nice to know the ballpark figures. Ty for doing the list G!

    edit:

    vegavox $25

    vegavox II $35

i purchased color caves $45 on 1/20/11, second hand

if someone said they sold one for that, i am pretty sure only one has been sold recently. congrats dan!

  • You should add Midines to the list.
  • ^ theres alot of music related homebrew coming out over on chipmusic

and yeah, I'd say midines has a good value since the creator was a huge scamming pos so not that many carts are even around
  • The lowest buyer of Homebrew World Championship was $108 and I assume nobody is going to sell this game for a loss. Looks like you can start there with a price increase depending on the release #
  • Adjusted up some xmas cart and added HBWC price as a start.

I am aware of the music carts, I haven't really followed the prices, I know the vegavox's have appreciated a bit. If someone has more solid info on them, I will put them in their own section.
  • are teh nomolos LE Grey carts the numbered ones that were preordered? i remember that the box wasnt numbered so it didnt matter if you got a cart or a CIB.
  • Don't forget Super Bat Puncher Demo

edit: last sale price was $175.

Yes, The grey were the numbered ones.

  • K, so I got some insight into some of these numbers.

Black Bio Force Ape sold a week or two ago for over $100. I think it went for $125, number 32. Ebay.

25 new copies of 4 music carts just went back up for sale for next 5 days. Vegavox 1&2, Color Caves, and Teletime. $125 per copy, so is that the new price? Plus a new one selling for $275. Link here: http://donate.lagamespace.org/

NANWC cart on auction here, already up to $165.

Also, you don't have the BFACC Grey on here. Since those were numbered/limited, I would include it.
  • Got it, Adjusted BFAC black and added the grey BFAC Grey cart. I'll make a section for music carts, need to add midines and moon8 too to that list.

NANWC is a hack, so gonna wait and see with it. May need to make a section for LE hacks/repros, but I really haven't followed them much so sales/pricing information is appreciated.

  • Adjusted down some sudoku's based on NA auction
  • i pmed the Original Thread Starter about this ,

Edit To Add =   its a Demo tho

    http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=34&threadid=25519
  • Great list! I think even though its an NA item I don't think the NANWC should be included. Keep it actual homebrew only.
  • sudoku gold with no damage would go for more than what the auction ended at (quite possibly a decent amount more), especially considering that we now know that at least 1 out of the 10 is not in great shape!

I'm  keeping this list Homebrew only with the exception of 8bit xmas 2008(technically just a tech demo) because 09-12 are true homebrews.

I do however believe that it would be helpful for a list of the music carts and other LE hacks, repros at some point as they do tend to change hands and suffer from a similar lack of readly available sales information.
  • No Super Bat Puncher Demo?

I don't know if it truely belongs here. It's kinda in that prototype type area. Being it's a demo and although it hasn't shown up yet is planned as a full game. I could also list xmas protos, battle kid protos, etc, etc. I guess there is a difference in that there are multiple demos, but I think it may belong in a different category. We'll see what others say.
