My beloved Tekken 5 fight stick for PS2. Works for all my fighters on PS1, PS2 and PS3...and MAME arcade on PC. For a dude who grew up in the 'cades before console gaming....there's no better control method. I love it and clean it, and named him George.
If I had to pick, it'd have to be my Sky Kid prototype because I love that game so much. I'm not a sealed collector, but I'd love to have a sealed Sky Kid one day.
Just found another gem: Special Edition Tips-& Tricks 1999 Video Game Code Book. Has codes for PS1, N64, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy, NES and Game Genie!! A bit tattered, but a great help nonetheless.
I can't pick just one game because different eras had different gems imo.
I'll have to go with my completely backwards compatible PS3. You have to love being able to play approximately 4,000-5,000 games (between PS1, PS2, and PS3) on one single console. I'm not sure if EVERY game works but every PS1/PS2 game I own that I've tried has worked. A lot of great memories!! (If we're talking strictly Nintendo then obviously a Wii for similar reasons)
For nes, If I could determine if I still have my original smb 1 then that would be it. And with having to choose one I use the earlier mentioned if there was a fire what would you save first, so pending revelation about my smb cart, I would go with Little Samson.
I sold my games as a kid and started keeping them when I got my PlayStation. I think prior to that I may have only kept that smb, and maybe destiny of an emperor.
Scotty, I call BS on cleaning it. Ive see it in person. It has man funk ALL over it.
That's called baiting the hook. How else would I lure you to my bedroom, unless it had the look and smell of the Dallas Cowboys locker room and a seedy highway truckstop bathroom.
My favorite gem in my collection is probably Harvest Moon for SNES. The version I have is the Scandinavian version with english screen text (with a small booklet with instructions in Swedish).
I remember way back when the game was due for release and I read a review in Super PLAY (one of the major video game magazines in Sweden) and I guess I was about 10 years old or so. I was drooling over the pictures of this game, reading the review over and over and really longing for it. But when the game was actually released I didn't buy it myself. I guess it was way back in the days when if your friend was going to buy a game, you bought a different one so you could borrow the game from each other. So I never got around to buying it. But my cousin did. And I remember sitting in front of the TV playing it for hours in the middle of the summer instead of being outdoors or whatever. But he was still this kind of guy that ruled over his own stuff and didn't let you play that much so while he grew tired of it after awhile I never did. After some years I actually asked him if I could buy the game off of him and he agreed to it. He wanted half the initial prize for it, it was prized approx $90 when he bought it and I got it for $45. I actually nagged a bit about not being able to pay under half the prize for a used game but I really wanted it so I agreed to it. And then I've played it at least once a year since I bought it and it's still my treasure. It's somewhat worn out but still complete and actually quite hard to come by these days. Most of the PAL versions of this game that I found on auction sites are with German screen text or goes for an amazing amount of money. But I'd still love to get a complete edition of the Australian release which has the same box and label art style as the American version, I think.
It's hard to say what the gem is of my collection. Some of them aren't all that valuable but I still love having them in my collection. Probably the gem of my collection is my complete NES Deluxe Set with all the original paperwork, cables, etc. Also my mint copy of Snatcher for the Sega CD has to be up there too.

Always wondered about the backwards compatible PS3 systems. Did you have to buy anything in particular to get it to be compatible (extra software, etc)?
I would have to say my gem is Revelations: Persona because it survived my childhood, be it shit-kicked and disc only now, I still have my save file on my memory card, sitting beside it. 227 hours of flirting with demons. Best game of my childhood.
My Mega Man 8 Anniversary Collector's Edition. It was supposed to come with an Anthology Booklet, and when I found there wasn't one inside, I sent Capcom a letter, and they replied by sending me the booklet, plus 3 Mega Man X3 postcards and a set of Nintendo Power Mega Man X pogs. Probably the last time I ever got decent customer service from Capcom. I even kept the envelope they sent it all in.
This is a very hard question, but I would have to say one of the Zeldas is my gem. It could be Link's Awakening, Legend of Zelda (NES) or Ocarina of Time... Ocarina of Time gives me the best eye candy for sure
It might sound silly but - just the other week my mum asked me to clean out my brothers old room and I found a box full of just plain ol' video game manuals. Back in the hayday of NES and SNES when my parents were together we had plenty of money from my father's job so we had more than enough games. However around the 64s launch we sold all our NES and SNES games. I've regretted it ever since.
Just a bunch of random manuals from NES, SNES and Gameboy mainly may seem next to valueless to some, but they are the only remaining pieces of my favorite pass time. I don't even dare put the manuals in my box/carts which are missing the manuals but it's in that childhood box. They will always sit in that box together. Just reading the notes that my brother and I wrote int hem way back when bought a nostalgia tear to my eye.
also, why is a giant vagina attacking a spaceship? Hmmm
Seriously though, thanks for asking, I was wondering myself. When I google image that title I get a black not a white case so I imagine it has something to do with that
I'll never get tired of showing this little guy off.
Sorry, but what is this? (I honestly don't know.)
Thanks.
This is the Korean Version of Eliminate Down for the Mega Drive. The Japanese version has a black cover and that one goes for about $400+. Really hard to find but this game is hard as balls. Only true SHMUP fans would enjoy a game this brutal.

Don't judge !!
Love oddball stuff like this!
GB- Mortal Kombat CIB, Japan Beast Wars II CIB, Japan Street Fighter
PS2-Action Replay with DVD region code changer
Probably others, can't think of them right now
Also my Nintendo sign
and my excellent shape Ardy Lightfoot CIB with box still in cello
Other things I cherish are my letters from Nintendo game counsellors in the early 90's and my childhood NES games.
It used to be my NES TV and it still might be but perhaps my new one in the last year is the Campout Powerpak with 4 or less in existence!

My clear purple gbc that I got for my birthday as a kid, and my copy of Pokemon red that I played the crap out of as a kid in that purple gbc!
They may as well be one item, and it would be the one thing I would save from my collection if I could only choose one.
EDIT: I guess it's not really an AV Famicom, I don't know why I said that. It is a top loader with the AV Multi Out in it.
