Beggar Prince

Finally started playing Beggar Prince and didnt realize what I was missing.  I'm very impressed with game play, music, battle scenes, etc.  So far at Level 16 and the coolest part is that their only a few sources out there that I can attempt to cheat on, so the game is even harder when I get stuck (like with the Quicksand boots).  Hope to forge through more hours this weekend and see what else this game offers.  Anyone else out there finish the game?

  • Aww man this game gets tricky as the glitch also carries over into the second print causing you to start over from the beginning. I played through it and I had ahard time getting help on where to go but I think that gamefaq has a short walkthrough on this which might help a bit. I tried not to use it too much after the part where the native village glitches out.
  • I had one major glitch with the quicksand boots, I left the pyramid without..so I was screwed at that point, but luckily the last owner had a save in the pyramid with the boots, now I'm good again. Hopefully, I'll be ok going forward
  • Not too sure about the quicksand boots as I didn't have any issues getting past that part but the native village is something else. Once you get marrried to the tribe leaders daughter and try to escape the village things get weird and won't allow you to leave. It will glitch out and you will be stuck wandering the village and outskirts with no other choice to start over. I'm not too sure what causes this but doubling back may be a casue for the game to do this. My second attempt to complete that game went smooth but getting back to the same point with fear that it maight happen again was kind of a nail biter. After that it was smooth sailing but not sure why SFT did a sloopy job of patching it as I have the 2nd edition.
  • Wow...that sucks, I'll definitely have to watch my saves and skim thru the walk thru I found of the web. Thanks for the tip,
  • I am looking for the homebrews Pier Solar, Beggar Prince, Legend of Wukong, and Star Odyssey. Does anyone know where I can find these games and not have to pay $200+??? They look like fun games and I want to experience them but still support the developers.
  • Asking for roms here is bad form. To add to that, I don't beleive that the superfighter team roms have been dumped anywhere that I know of. I'm assuming that you want the english versions of these games and SFT just released a pc download for all three of them on their website. The most legal thing to do!
  • I'm not asking for roms illegally. I just don't want to spend $200+ on something that isn't a console. Every other Genesis game is available for download somewhere so why not the homebrews? That's all I'm saying. I'll gladly pay for those games but $200+ for 1 game is not worth it imo. I'm all for supporting the developers but I don't want to burn a hole in my pocket.
  • You are asking for roms illegally. You happen to have edited your original post to say BUY, right before you made your above post, but you know what you asked for. There will not be a rom available of this game, certainly not for you to buy one, but if you legitimately do want to support Super Fighter, as dcdan mentioned they just released the RPG Trifecta Pack for $20, which includes Beggar Prince, Legend of Wukong, and Star Odyssey:

TY for the link. I truly DO want to support the developers. If I would have known that I could pay $20 and get those 3 games, I wouldn't have posted anything. I just felt frustrated when going on to Ebay and finding Pier Solar for $250 - $350!! The long and short is that I was looking for these homebrews and didn't know I could pay a few bucks to have them. I believe in honesty and I assure you that my intentions were nothing but positive. I will be buying the Trifecta pack by the end of the day so I'll own 3/4 games. I guess I will wait for a price drop on Pier Solar. Ty for the link!

*Edit - I was informed that Pier Solar preorders are taking place and to be released around December for about $59.
  • Trifecta pack preordered! These homebrews look fun. Does anyone have any experience playing them and care to share their experience? Pros and cons?

These are not homebrews. These are Taiwan unlicensed games programmed in the 90's that Super Fighter team bought, translated, and still managed to screw up with game breaking glitches.

    Pier Solar is a homebrew.

The reason why homebrews aren't available for download is because the developers still make money off of them. Asking for them to be open download is just rude and ignorant.

Thanks for the clarification on homebrews.

Please show me IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM where I asked for these games to be "open download"...........I never did and have no clue what you're even referencing there. I paid for these games already (via the official developers site) except Pier Solar, which I'm in no rush to obtain. Making fale assumptions about people with absolutely no proof to back up your claim is rude and ignorant.

The implication is right there. If that's not what you meant, then word your posts better.

The bold text is called a QUESTION hence the "?" at the end. Two sentences later I state "I'll gladly pay for those games...". I was simply making reference to the high price of Pier Solar that I had seen on Ebay.

Sorry if you misunderstood my grammer. I don't want any drama, I'm just clarifying. Have a good day.
