you guys makes them look likes they're the fucking devil sometimes (ok, yes they are for the buying parts). yet, in my 8 years purchasing with them, never did I encountered ANY of the problems ever written in this thread. maybe we do have some good stores around here ? I vist about every EBGames in the city (5 or 6) and they're pretty much all the same. there's just one fucking annoying guy behing the counter at 1 store that I put him in it's place when he try to sell his shit, but other than that, every other employee are very cool. I buy used sometimes but they're always complete, just stick to remove, but i mainly buy new stuff from them and they're always brand new not opened.
i'm not saying they're the best place to buy, they do have mass quantities of stuff usually, but I guess it depends where you're located to have a good service I guess.
Yea, it does depend on the location and people running it really. I've heard of Gamestop/EB as a paradise in one area, and a hell hole in another, apparently the ones in strop malls and such are pretty shitty.
Theres only 2 EBgames that I find good, the one by my work, probably because they let me cherry pick trade ins on PS2,PSP and DS games before they go on the floor. And one in a major shopping mall, about 20 minutes from my work, They actually take the time to take off the old small yellow stickers and replace them with the green ones, instead of just slapping them on top. All the other stores I've been to have douche-bag hipsters working at them, who know NOTHING about games and pretend to know everything. Only fun part is proving them wrong in front of other customers.
With all this flaming on Gamestop we do here and all over the net, why is it that no one gets this organized and class action sues their asses over it? Legally they're misrepresenting the quality of the product and selling a lie about it being NEW. Once it has been opened up regardless if it has been used or not, out of the manufacturers seal it is no longer NEW. The fact they're marking it as new and selling it as such technically is illegal, it's a scam.

Exactly what I told that bitch Manager over the phone yesterday. I told her no matter how you label the item, once it's been opened for any reason, the product is NOT new, and slapping a "New" sticker on it doesn't make it new.
I believe that LameStop does have a pending Class Action lawsuit against them in California. I think I remember reading about it/hearing about it.
I wish they were to go out of business because the stranglehold on the market would help the small game stores of the world out tremendously (what few still exist), and the whole douchebaggery of the LameStop Way would cease, period.
Mom and Pop shops ain't coming back anytime soon, Americans are too busy buying cheap shit to pay the little bit extra mom and pops need to charge for their slim profits.
Gamestop's problem is it's lax return policy. Once they change that and charge a restocking fee they won't have to repackage games and sell as new to make up for the loss. They are just shooting themselves in the foot.
The only cool EB Games near me is the one closest to me, since I'm a regular there, they no longer push anything on me because they know the answer Plus the employees are pretty cool themselves and aren't the regular dude bros that make up most of the other employee force. I'm also seeing more and more chicks working at GS/EB, anyone else notice this?

I'm talking about the few already in existence. The reason LameStop/EB has the market, is because it's all the Soccer Mom's and their punk-ass kids know of: LameStop/EB and Wal*Mart are all they know.
You get rid of LS/EB, and that leaves the basic Wal*Mart, and opens up the Mom & Pop's with the Retro and New stuff more opportunities.
LS/EB get all the marketing on websites/TV and then all the Midnight Release BS and Pre-Order jive also associated with them just being in existence.
In fact, LS/EB are the entire reason that the Mom & Pop's have vanished for the most part.
Argh stupid f*cking ebay. I tried to just close on a Faria cart that was at $21 and I went for the 1 click bid and it popped up fine, but I put in 25 to put a few bucks over where it was, and the goddamned thing just put in 22 instead so I lost it. Damn I hate their ignorant scripts.
I have an ebay complaint for you all and it's my fault I got screwed but hope that they take my feedback seriously. Long story short, I sold a rocksmith game for $50 and shipped the item and it arrived safely. Well, I was going through my eBay the other day and noticed I never got paid. So, I'm trying to Figure out how I let this slip past me. Well, when you sell an item, some buyers wait on an invoice while some checkout. Once you check out, the option automatically pops up on the right that says "print shipping label". Why would anyone want to print a shipping label if they haven't been paid? I wouldn't. Well, I had a lot to ship and just went up the list shipping and wasn't paying attention. I called them and acknowledged that it was my fault but explained my issue. The eBay rep understood my complaint and said "I'm actually going to take this to the development team" (so apparently if the rep thinks normally you are being a tit, they just tell you they are going to share with the development team). We will see what happens, but it definitely backfired on me and cost me the $50 I sold it for plus the $20 I bought it for. The buyer never paid, never responded, and phone number is disconnected.

I had this happen while buying some Ren & Stimpy shit about 1-2 months ago, except the roles were reversed. The dude shipped like really fast! It got here 2 days after I won it. I was out of town for the 2 days workin, so when I got home and a big package was on my porch, I had no idea what it was. I then opened it and just thought, wow.....this dude is pretty trusting! Anyhow I immediatly paid, left killer feedback....sent him a kind message and then bought more shit from him on 6 different occasions.
Just the luck of the draw if ya get someone honest or a dodgy fuckhead. Bummer man.
My craigslist frustration is mounting and I've only been using it for a few weeks. Putting aside all of the morons that list N64's at $200 or SNES games at ebay BIN prices, I am starting to get pissed off at people that say "X is available for $50 or best offer." So I email them and make a reasonable offer- $40 and they say "No, it's only available for $50." They're damn lucky I'm not a creepy serial killer...

Are you in North Maryland? They advertise up here in PA for their "great deals"
i saw a lot that said "HUGE MEGA LOT OF RARE 108 SUPER NINTENDO GAMES MANY RPG SOME SPORTS" as the title. so i looked at it, no list of titles, and some pics that repeated themselves. i saw a good number of games i needed, but no RPGs, and made a lower offer than what they were asking. they accepted.
i got the package and it was 108 games in the condition they stated (some labels worn, some writing). got 36 titles i actually needed, so i wasn't too pissed....until i realized there wasn't a single RPG and that there was 60+ sports titles in the lot. so i asked the seller about it and they replied by saying i can't read, and told me i didnt know what RPG meant. then when i explained what RPG meant, they said that they are sorry that i didn't get any high dollar games to resell to make my money back and that they shouldn't have sold it for so cheaply anyway, to send them all back. i told them i was a collector and not a reseller, and that i wanted to keep them; that i'd chalk it up as a learning experience and that in the future they should be less misleading with their auction titles and take better pics. then i gave neutral feedback.
they responded by telling me i was insane for giving that feedback, asked me if i was mental and told me i should be on medication. all in some horribly broken english. then they left me feedback saying i cant "read american" and then sent me more angry messages. so i tried reporting them for harassment, and after searching forever (and only finding an option to report buyers, not sellers) i disputed the transaction and told ebay i didn't want a refund, and i didn't want to send the games back, that i just wanted to report the seller for harassment.
ebay responded by saying that the auction title was accurate, and that i was denied a refund. I DIDNT ASK FOR A REFUND. so with that automated response, now the seller feels vindicated and sent me a feedback revision request stating "even ebay sides with me. no refund for you". i declined the revision, and posted followups to their feedback on my end, as well as my feedback on their end.
and ebay says they protect the buyer? maybe the buyers money, but not from seller harassment. this guy is nuts.

Yes I am in North/Northeast Maryland. It's insane how many people get these ridiculously terrible deals that even make steep ebay prices look good.
Yea, I had an ebayer send insulting messages after I left a negative feedback because he sent me an item that was broken. Some pretty oddballs out there on dem interwebs

did you contact the seller first? maybe could have resolved it and it was just a shipping mishap or a misunderstanding. Always contact a seller first to see if they will help you out. I cant stand it when someone leaves neutral or negative on my account without contacting me.

i've had the same thing happen too. Had a guy buy a nes game and after he got it left negative feedback saying it didn't work. So i messaged him asking what was going on and walked him through some troubleshooting and him realizing his NES needed a new pin connector. Thankfully he was willing to retract the negative feedback on that one.

Normally I am with you 100% on this, but the other day I left a rare neutral without contacting the seller first.
I didn't have anymore HDMI slots on my gaming TV, so once I bought the Wii U I had to start unplugging stuff and all that. I go on ebay and look for an HDMI splitter/switch, I search for only U.S. sellers as I usually do with little electronic trinkets or cables like that otherwise they come from the other side of the world and take forever. I wanted to get this quickly as it was a daily annoyance. I find one, the listing has a big graphic saying " USA SELLER", item location says "ships from the united states". I buy it and sure enough it comes from China...
Here is the feedback I left : If description says ships from U.S, it SHOULD NOT COME FROM SHANGHAI! 3 weeks
Yeah i usually even in that case ask for a refund, but if it was cheap and a huge seller they wont even pay attention to you. My biggest peeve is like dude above said. Saying something doesnt work thats a cart game that i pictured working in the listing. Then negging me for not working. Probably denting my star rating as well and then they never respond to my messages. Im like first of all it works and id love to help them get it working why would you just accept something that you think doesnt work? And not even try to get money back or contact seller.
Yea I contacted him, he said for me to ship it back while paying for it, and I wasn't going to do that, I'd rather just go buy a new one for a bit more than it would cost to ship it back. Wasn't about to sink some more money into it.
How often do you guys/gals get people on eBay with 0% feedback + been a member since 2010-2011 not paying for stuff? This is the second time this happen... which sucks because I defiantly could use the extra cash around now. Guess I need to wait a few more days to report this jerk.

I've had it happen a few times, but not often.
Chances are they like to window shop and commit to buy without paying.
I had one guy win an auction on a cell phone and never pay. Searching their activity showed they were bidding on phones left and right.
so i just had a terrible experience with ebay seller: jmvintagememorabilia based out of wisconsin
i win the auction for 8 GCN games, I receive them and they look like they were sandpapered. these were the ugliest discs I've ever purchased. Anyway, contact the guy and he's like "yea, get them fixed and i'll reimburse you" so, i got them fixed and then he decides he doesnt want to reimburse. whatever, he sends me all this passive aggressive email BS so I open a ticket with ebay. ebay rules against me and then he sends me another passive aggressive email. total jerk. ugh
I sold a ghostbusters prop to a ebay newb had 3 feedback. Was $300 dude didn't sign for it and hasn't picked it up yet , been 9 days sitting at the PO. He Doesn't respond to emails . I had to call ebay to get his number since it wouldn't come up on the contact info search. I don't want to call him up to bother but shit looks like I'm going to have to. Cost me $25 just to ship it. Win some lose some I guess.
BTW: It's the holidays so you'll be seeing more 0%ers.

That's happened before to me as well. I always took it as other resellers fake accounts bidding up my stuff to make their stuff look more attractive.
got a negative today.... I EFFIN HATE PEOPLE.... SOMEONE AGAIN WHO DIDNT READ...In the negative it just said RUDE. Here is what she sent me as a message first before leaving the negative.
I Should add that the message title was NOT AS DESCRIBED.....anyway here is what she said
"""Hi,I recieved the WWE Smackdown vs Raw case....but when I opened it there was no game inside! Can We Please Resolve This Issue It Is A Christmas Gift For MY 10yr Old Son!""""""
here is what i responded by
Item was as described, this was for the case only and no game included. We mention this 3 times in the listing (the search title, the listing title & the description) so this would be clear. I am sorry you made a mistake, but we were very clear on what was included. We can take returns but we have a restocking fee of the original shipping cost, So if you want to return it I will be happy to send a refund. You can reuse the bubble mailer I sent the case in. Thanks for contacting us first. My shipping info is below.
Again, sorry for the trouble
I cant stand people sometimes. My first negative since like april may only 3 in the past 12 months on high volume sales. ughh had such a good streak going. still dont see how i was so rude and deserved a negative. my guess is she is mad and taking it out on me instead of herself who didnt read.
The listing states CASE ONLY NO GAME 3 times....what more can I do????????

I cant stand people sometimes. My first negative since like april may only 3 in the past 12 months on high volume sales. ughh had such a good streak going. still dont see how i was so rude and deserved a negative. my guess is she is mad and taking it out on me instead of herself who didnt read.
The listing states CASE ONLY NO GAME 3 times....what more can I do????????
