Donations Area Up
I've struggled with the idea of accepting donations for a long time,
mainly because I've always wanted to keep this site free, and
worry-free from our members. Lately, we've started to grow... a lot.
With this growth, there are going to be a few things we'll need to keep
our server up and running at a level you've come to expect. Most
immediately, these needs include more memory (4 GB, cost TBD) and a
license for ColdFusion 8 ($3,750). Those two items will improve our
situation greatly.
In the future, we'll undoubtedly be asked to find another home
for NA, as it's currently hosted on two servers the company I work for
owns. It's at that point that we'll need a decent chunk of change to
pay for two co-located servers (web + database). Until then, we'll
start building up a fund to face that hurdle once it arrives.
Because I feel it's important for your donations to be noticed,
I've created 5 icons that will be placed next to your user name for 1
year after your donation (see the following link), representing your level of donation. I don't
want anyone to feel bad for not donating, so if you can't, no worries!
This is more to allow those that wish to donate to be proud to have
helped us out. If you cannot afford to help, please, please do not
donate -- we won't hold it against you (we promise), and don't want
anyone putting themselves in a situation they're uncomfortable with or
a situation that would leave them strapped for cash.

If you donate $25 you can still have the shroom, just ask Dain for it. I thought it was either one was $25 at first. The shroom owns nonetheless
Hey Dain, I have an idea, insted of making the shroom less then $25, how bout making it a general donation icon for those who want the amout donated to not be made public. Otherwise you may get alot of smaall donations just to have the cool shroom icon

Heh...I read this post, and then I went and checked bunnyboy's icons... A silver coin, a bronze coin, *and* a mushroom? How the heck do you do that?
