Gran Turismo 5

So I have an issue, I've been debating on opening one (of 2) GT5 CE that I own, but I just noticed they have another edition out with all the DLC for around $20. Should I just go get the new one, or opening up the amazing CE?

  • Well, you have 2 so why not open one and keep other sealed...I dunno.

The edition you're talking about is the Academy Edition. I got it. Nice and cheap. Glad I waited getting GT5 since that came out.
  • Opened it. Some cool things in there. Already using the key chain and the book was a great coffee table addition. I was hoping for more of a series history type book, but it was still cool. The car was decent, though I expected it to be somewhat bigger. Overall, great CE for $50!
  • Didn't the CE also include a wallet or something? Definitely something leather bound because I remember telling my other half off about it XD
  • Nope. Would've been cool though

Should be a wallet in there, mate . . .unless the US CE was somehow different.

I believe you guys are refering to the Signature Edition which also had an orange car.

    I got this:

I believe the GT5 CE for the UK replaced the car and key chain for some post cards and (much cooler) silver cover for the game sleeve. While the post cards look great, I'm happy with the car and key chain.

  • Right, I'm with you now. We have a great high street/online franchise for used games/DVDs/Blurays in the UK called Computer Exchange (or CEX as it's more commonly known.) They often sell CEs like this one at the same price as the regular game - usually any title in a slipcase or in a steelbook. Great for collectors who don't mind second hand.

I actually picked up the UK version of this for around £20 which was the price of the regular edition at the time. And, yes . . .you are correct. our version was scaled down to  the book, some picture cards and a black cover with silver lettering.

Did you get the Signature Edition in the states ??
