I already made fun of Nick in the first installment, so if I didn't get this kind of reaction the first time, what do you think I thought?
There were no personal attacks in the first segment, which is why there were no complaints. You successfully made fun of those that think they can spot any fakes without insulting any one person.

Hey Stan, from now on would you please not make fun of any specific person without asking them? Just assume people don't want to be insulted, instead of assuming they wouldn't have a problem. Without the attacks we can talk about the topic, not the insults. Controversial topics are not the problem and I hope that some form of a comic continues to appear.

3rd: Stan, you keep saying your 3rd comic puts all this into perspective. Why not just post the third comic in the forum to silence all the "morons"???
4th: It is said that this is an attack on the "nes community" by stan, and people are acting like its unforgivable etc. I think resealing games and scamming members of the community you act to care so much about is more unforgivable, yet he wants to be accepted again. So when you 'attack" the community by cheating its members its ok, but if someone else "attacks" the community by lampooning you for it they should get blackballed???
And the 1st comic did include a personal attack as the title was "this is not about nick, i swear" Although it says its not about him, you could pretty much assume it was. He could have emailed stan after the 1st, and, according to stan, he would have obliged in not using his name.

The thing is, Stan's dredging up something that happened 2+ years again and dragging Nick through the coals all over again... my question is why? Nick had a horrible lapse in judgment at the time and he paid the price, believe me, and not just on the old forums like Nesworld, gamefaqs, etc. Should the 95% of the members on this site who've been here no time at all be made to automatically hate Nick's guts for a mistake he made years before these noobs were even around? Unlike Hounder (who you probably haven't heard of yet) Nick has made the effort to become a valuable and positive member of the community again, and now Stan's comic is like double jeopardy...
exactly. and its not even double jeopardy, its continuous jeopardy. when it happened, I was of the opinion that nick should have been banned. but he wasn't, he was accepted back, and like you say he's become a valuable member. But the nonstop "trial" has to end, because he's kept up his end of the bargain.
Thank God some of the highly respected members feel the way I feel about this. It reinstates my faith in the community. There was a moment there when I feared that I was going to be on my own in this. This thread has come along way in the eventual "letting go" of this. I think it was the right decision not to lock it and let everyone have a chance to speak.

For one, i dont think the "noobs" are going to hate nick over a comic. Regardless of when i joined, my point of view is valid, seeing as I'm not biased in either direction. Both parties being discussed have done wrong! I wasnt trying to pick sides in the matter, but i agree with you more that stan was wrong and he shouldnt have made a personal attack. It is also my view that what was done in the past was still shitty, regardless if whats done in the present is not. My point was that what stan did was less detrimental to the nes scene, and i dont just mean this site, because the nes scene spans far more distance then this site alone. Its being played up like its a nail in the coffin or something. It was one dumb comic, it wasnt that big of a deal. Nick and I are talking about it, I'm surprised you people haven't noticed he hasn't really said anything. Probably because he doesn't care that much. And the reason this was done was because making a comic about side-bidding against someone (which was what he recently did) wasn't as funny to me. It was easier to do this because the whole 'sealed' issue is very important to some people. You must wait for the third. Only Nick knows the outcome, and I'm willing to forgive. In fact, as I told him, that was the point of this series. I really didn't think you guys would get so in a tizzy about totally nothing.

Arguing with him over his opinions or getting pissed off when he makes one of his comments won't get you anywhere but the same 5 pages of garbage.
2)Nick has done some shitty stuff in the past and recent present. He'll probably do something in the future that some will find unethical. You all know that. Take that as you will. I've dealt with him before and had no problems, doesn't mean I'll never have a problem, or that I ever will have a problem with him. Just take what you know into consideration and make you decisions accordingly.
3) As for the comic itself...it's alright...I'll agree that it seems to be a little too inside and over the top, but then again I can totally see Stan's opinons raging out through the comic. The comic is so much like Stan in real life, that if you don't normally like what Stan has to say, you're probably not gonna like the comic. Knowing this, you can choose to read or not to read. If you enjoy Stan's comments, you'd probably love his comic.
Hey now, the one thing I will admit is I hate one thing, dishonesty and what I feel are stupid collecting practices. The former, everyone should care about, the latter is merely opinion. By the way, guys, feel free to order your own Faegly shirt! Make a video of you peeing on and burning it!

All very true words sir, well said. Like I said like 3 pages ago...Stan is Stan, Nick is Nick. Take them for what they are. Everyone has people who like them and people who dislike that, that is part of life. Not all personalities mingle together. I am glad to see Stan and Nick talking though. ~~NGD
Okay, I'm too lazy to read the whole damn thread...stupid being out of town for a few days Honestly, I'm surprised it took so long for the question of personal attacks in Stan's comics to come up...I mean, there's been obvious rips to Nick and a few others since the comic debuted. I've found the comic in bad taste since day one, but hell, I also found some of the inside jokes hilarious! Of course, I know most of the issues he brings up as some of them date back to NESWorld. Stan, I think if you had used fake character names or something instead of being so damn obvious, it wouldn't be such a big deal...the old timers will get the references anyway and have a good laugh, and the newer members would still laugh at the stupidity of the situation without you having to bring up dead and buried shit. Also, it strikes me as a slapped-together effort anyway, and could benefit from some simple planning...maybe make a few characters, base them around different people around the site, and tell some outlandish stories based on exaggerations of actual happenings on NA, and it may actually work. There's a fine line between satire and slander, and realistically if Faegly is intended for the latter, it has no place in the 'Zine. Anyway, enough of my rant, time to go onto other projects
