The collection grows...

Picked these up at the local flea market today. Nothing super rare, but paid $35 for all of them. I figure I saved at least $20 over ebay prices. Conquest of the crystal palace and godzilla are kinda rare right?

  • Nice pick up! Conquest is a 3/10 rarity and Godzilla is 4/10 nothing too crazy but you still gotta pick them up at some point! =)
  • Dragon Power is a 4/10, too. Never a bad thing when they are games you still need for your collection.
  • In my opinion the real gem in there is Gyruss; it's a great/weird hybrid shmup that doesn't get enough praise. Love that game. Super fun to play.
  • I agree, Gyruss is one I had a lot of fun with years ago. Overall you did good

Yeah I was glad I picked up that one. I used to really like the show dragonball z and it is the Americanized version of dragonball for the famicom.

  • So today I went game hunting at some local thrift and pawn shops and I think I did well. I got a GameCube with hookups, a controller and a game boy player all for $30! Then at a different store later I picked up 2 controllers (beeshu zipper and sansui joycard sss), and Chubby Cherub for the NES also for $30 total. They had $5 each on the controllers and $25 on the game, but saved $5 by bundling them together.

  • Chubby cherub is an a pretty valuable game I believe, but I don't know anything about the nes. Nice finds!
  • Chubby Cherub's a $30 or so game... I could have sworn it was along the lines of $100 or something though. Is it just rare?

Also, I would love to buy that Gameboy Player off you or trade for it if you're willing.
  • Conquest of the Crystal Palace is a pretty fun game in it's own right!I paid $1 for my copy!
  • Those 3rd party controllers are sweet!

    Great pick up man
  • I agree, conquest of the crystal palace is one of the better side scrolling rpgs I have played
  • That sansui controller is a trip if you plug in the audio jack and try out the 'stereo' sound. It's neat as it shifts a higher volume left or right ear as you press that way on the d-pad. I got one of them recently for $5 like new in the box.

The GC bundle, the Player DISC alone hits $30 on ebay, so you did free gamecube, hookups, controller, and gb player deck in that range.
  • Cool, I tried the controller, but not the audio jack yet. I'll have to check that out!

And @ cold static, I'm kinda keen on keeping the gb player for now, but if you entice me with something interesting I might think about it. My main interest is NES stuff...
  • Sweet. Goonies II and Gyruss are great games. Maybe not the rarest, but still cool.

Agreed. I plan on getting a Gyruss arcade cabinet sometime this year.
  • It was a pretty good week. I picked up a power pad for $10 and found 4 games at a thrift shop. Super spike v'ball, castle of dragon, airwolf and air fortress. Paid $6 each, which would seem high, but the way pricing goes around here that's not bad. It beats having to wait for them to show up from eBay anyways. Everyone probably knows what this stuff looks like, but I'll probably still post a pic or two later once it's all cleaned up to "collector grade" lol
