Ya ya ya,...shut up. Back on topic, Seriously I find the google doc system very handy for larger projects like this. If anyone wnats to learn how to embed the pics ina google spread sheet or how I went about it witht he Carboard list I would be more than willing to share.
JVC X Eye Red Box (missing the sticker with pictures of the 3 'games'. May hold the secret to the infamous Black text Compton's?) Compared to this one: http://i55.tinypic.com/2po6psw.jpg
Some of these pictures are horrible and I'm going to blame it on lighting, but it's probably a combination of poor lighting, a poor man's camera, and a poor photographer.

10 gold stars for you. Those pics are perfect. And I never knew about the red jvc!
And, Johnny, explain google docs and everything I need to know.

I have the pack-ins list (that needs a serious update) on Google docs as well. Basically you steal a spreadsheet from someone create a spreadsheet in Excel or right in Google Docs and make it public, then post the link in the thread. You can link the pictures within the document.
That said, I actually like the pictures in the first post as well, but it might be nice to have the Google doc to link for other forums.
The red JVC box is most likely to have the Red Comptons. The black text comptons I saw was in the standard blue box, in fact if you look at the picture on the blue box it shows the black text comptons.
Pics in the thread are well and good but it is nice to have a go to resource that you can save and take with you.
My black text compton's came in that box. We're both going off sample sizes of 1 which isn't very good practice. I think any box is most likely to have the red version anyway since that seems to be the most common. The back of my model 1 TMSS Genesis has a picture of the HDG version sitting on top of a SCD, but that's not what was actually in the box just what they had a picture of so that's not too reliable.
If this is to be believed the black ones weren't around for very long at all since the X Eye supposedly didn't even come out until September of 94? http://www.allgame.com/platform.php?id=18826 Don't know how accurate that is, but only the earliest of the early sold units would have black versions.
I've seen more reds than anything. Blue is the only thing that I know I still need for the tiny little NFR set which is admittedly less obnoxious than 'the only thing I need for the SCD as a whole', but you hang in there champ.
and yeah, i liked the idea of having all the pics in the thread. it's a nice pictorial guide right in the forum. but if people feel a google doc is the way to go, than a google doc it is.
however, with a google doc, say a picture is linked from a website or from a forum post, if that website or post is edited/deleted than the link won't work anymore, right? and the picture is gone for forever, right?

Well, I tried to post a different one based on a photo I was send on ebay, but it won't let me save it at all. The best I can do is copy and paste. I've never seen this 6-pak packaging before.
