SNES Boxes!!
So I have a few hunting spots I hit up from time to time. This paticular area is full of retail stores but there are five of them and they all have pretty decent prices. I never walk out with anyting amazing but usually get some solid deals. This paticular time I was looking over some stock and came across Darius Gaiden (Saturn) and Fire Striker (SNES Boxed). I decided to pick them both up for about 45 total. Well Fire Striker was resealed (which apparently they do with all their boxed games) so I asked if it had the manual and the guy said,
"He didn't know but we can take off the plastic and see."
It ended up just being the box and the game which I was fine with. After we find out that it was just the box and cart he says,
"If you're interested in boxes we have a bunch that the same guy turned in."
So I said, "sure."
After about 10 minutes or so he finally wheels out a cart with the boxes on it. He said,
"Well there were a lot more but I'm not sure what happened to them."
I was a little bummed out thinking of all the boxes I probably missed out on but that quickly changed as I instantly see the Orange SNES box which can only be, "Final Fight Guy" He picks it up and said,
"Well this one is weird."
I laughed and played it off like I wasn't all that interested. After I start picking up some of them I ask how much they are selling them for. He asks the other girl and she said
"A buck a piece."
Well that's when I got greedy and picked everything I was remotly interested in up. As I'm checking out the owner comes up and says,
"How much are you selling these for?"
The worker replied "A buck a piece, we got them for 10 cents a piece"
The owner asks the girl that stated the price in the first place, "Did you look these boxes up? Some off them can be worth a decent amount."
She replied, "Yeah"
Safe to say I was sweating and just wanted to get out of there. The worker rang up my order and I ran out of there with a pretty decent haul.

A little crazy a retail store would miss out on looking these boxes up but I'm not complaining. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Nice job dude!!
congrats bro!
Looks to be great shape too!
Quite a few people are asking and these are available for trade or sale if the right offer comes. I don't collect boxes for the SNES. Here is my sale/trade thread: http://nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=6&threadid=78770 Stuff I'm looking for is in purple at the bottom. Thanks, Scott
No better feeling then when you find stuff like that and you can't get out of the store fast enough.
can you imagine the seller's reaction when/if he finds out how much these boxes are really worth?
Oh, epic fail on that girl's part. But you said it bro. It's all about being at the right place at the right time, and sometimes you need some lady luck too
that is such a mega awesome score!
