MY BEST PICKUPS EVER
As usual I went to several yard sales this past saturday with no luck, only a bunch of crap overprice games, but then on the last yard sale of the day I found some awesome stuff from this elderly woman, I was like WTF then I ask for prices and.... totally shock, long story short look what I got:
I asked if she is selling any videogames she said yes, there is a shoe box down there, how much for the box I said, and she said $10, my first thought was it must be all crappy games then I opened the box and found this all CIB:

I was in shock then she brought this other box and said that for $10 more I could get that as well :

Some dumb woman sells $700 worth of stuff for $20 and is ignorant to it. Makes me sick to my stomach.
What's funny is a small, quiet little part of me inside said the same thing. I used to be one of those guys that'd be up in arms over stuff like this and hate how some folks just didn't know what they had and would let others fleece them.
But to be blunt: it's a dog eat dog world, that lady should have gotten a grandson/neighbor/son/daughter/mailman ... to check her stuff out online for her. If she's willing to sell it for what she did at a humongous loss, maybe she just REALLY wanted it gone, in which case she made a conscious decision to not care enough to bother looking up the value on what she had.
To quote a realgamehunter fanboy on youtube when I got into this same argument before (over him walking away with 1000$ worth of Playstation games for 50$ and being an ass-hat and trying to get it even cheaper): it's capitalism.
If you go into it thinking about that big "C" word, and remember that the stuff is only worth what someone charges + pays... it isn't as bad as you might think.

Worth is subjective, perhaps she could care less and it was worth only $20 to her?

Maybe....but it's worth $700. It worth what someone is willing to pay...not what their willing to sell it for.

Yes, it's worth what someone will pay, not all will pay $700, some will pay more, some will pay less, I know I certainly wouldn't pay anything near that much for those items.
