Separate For Offer Section
We started debating this in the other thread, but I wanted to restate my opinion without getting "off topic"
If every seller on the site leaves the prices as FOR OFFER, I don't bother contacting this person unless its something actually rare. I haven't made a sale yet, but this is mainly because everything is FO.
So in my eyes, it is hurting sales since I wont bother and other buyers might not either. When you look at someones sale thread, I'd rather make a quick decision about wanting something at the listed price instead of figuring out how much I want to pay and how much its actually worth.
Yes its up to the seller and I understand you dont' care how long your stuff sits there, but just my two cents
You could even say that my 0 transactions are a direct result of FO hurting sales. Had they all had prices, I would have some done.

I prefer to see prices listed also. We already tell people to put FO in their thread title if they aren't listing prices, so they should be easy enough to skip over if you don't want to see them.
Secondly, yes some people use FO to fish for a huge price, but many people use it to just get a fair offer that works for both people. Sometimes they don't have the time or don't want to put the effort into pricing their stuff but if someone gives them an offer that looks ok someone might get a better deal than if they priced anyway. Also some put a FO first and then get around to pricing later on (like me). My best deals on the site have been from people that had a FO thread only, so really you are the one that is missing out more than the others.
And to follow up on what BA said earlier in that thread, you have zero feedback in 5 months. I don't think people are worried about you and the sales you would bring to the site as there are plenty of sales threads with prices that you haven't bought from.
As for having a separate thread, that's really up to the Mods. I don't know, but it might make it harder on them having an extra thread. I would be nice to have it separate I guess, but it doesn't make much difference to me. I'm fine with the way things are

First off I don't think we need a separate section as we do a pretty good job policing people and make them add FO to the topic. If you don't do FO, then don't click the thread.

lol, I was typing while you posted this, but basically everything you said in your second paragraph is spot on with the way I feel about it

QFT
I was just about to post something very similar. If it wasn't for FO I wouldn't have got so many great deals on this site. You guys avoiding it are missing out. Worst case scenario the seller says "No" and your back to square one.
I don't have a problem with FO threads, but they shouldn't get all haughty if they then start getting offers they don't like.

Thats OK. NA is about collecting and community. Not about selling!
I dont bother with FO either..
Yep, threads must be labelled FO. So I just keep scrolling.
Would be cool if there was a way to filter them out.

I think a suggestion on the buy/sell/trade category by someone who has ZERO transactions on here is just a troll post.
Sheesh, does it get more obvious? You are right. I'm shocked people are even entertaining his comments. There are so many FS threads with prices it's ridiculous. If you are making fair offers to begin with you shouldn't have to worry about being called a low-baller, if that's what he is scared of.

Well the worst case scenario is the seller ignores you or gets pissy for "low balling" them.

Yep. I hate that. Can't tell you how many times I've made an offer on someone's FO and then have to message the, two days later "well if my offer is too low, what are you looking to get?" and then I get back a straight up eBay price. When I make a FO it's because I have a bunch of shit that I don't feel, like pricing out not because I'm fishing for over-offers. I've given people good deals and been happy with every sale I've made here.
But my favorite is when you get "lowballed" by someone, not necessarily that bad, but like 50% of the items value. It's not craigslist here, but I don't get offended by low offers, I understand people want a deal. What gets offensive is when you get the low 50% offer, then you realize that person has a FS thread up where they want 125% worth for each of their items for sale. When I see that, I'm not going to negotiate much with them, it'll be my take it or leave it price.

That is a smart man right there! Screw the resellers They (try to) take all the good deals and (try to) sell it to us collectors.
This buds for you!(the beer icon is broken?)

works fine for me. You just have to manually type it out. : beer ; (without the spaces)

Yea, I skip over the FO threads as well, I just think that if someone has a price in mind that they should state it instead of have people fish for it. That's just my opinion on the matter, I know to each their own.
You are assuming the worst. Did it ever cross your mind that when a person puts for offer they legitimately DO NOT have a price in mind? People just want offers sometimes because they can't get a true gauge on the price.
I usually just put for offer because I dont have prices yet. If you want something I have, ask about it and I'll look up a fair value, but if nobody is interested in it I wont waste my time.

Did I wake up in an alternate reality Paul?

I like the WTB section. There has been a few times now that I have found people looking to buy stuff. Sometimes that is easier then posting a FS thread and getting all kinds of BS PMs.

Maybe for super obscure items with little to no history to go off of yes. But I'm referring to the average FO thread, if someone has no price in mind for games they're selling, then how do they come to a fair deal since they have nothign in mind? I'm sure people with a list of games in a FO thread of theirs have prices in mind and know the value of the games. I understand if someone has a FO thread on an item like original Nintendo hanafuda cards or something along the lines of true obscurity, but most FO threads consist of games that have an average sale price that the seller most likely knows about and/or can easily get anytime.
