Collection Manager

I'm going to be moving soon to the little place called Guam. Really wasn't by choice, but that's the Navy, right? Anyways, I started thinking about what I'm going to do with my collection and I decided I was going to put most of it in storage for the 3 years I'll be gone. Under the "Notes" I'm going to manually type in "Storage" for each one in storage. Then I thought if only there was a drop down menu that let me pick the location of each item, such as: "Shelf", "Closet", "Storage", "Loaned", and so on. I think this could be useful for those with bigger collections and if this was already implemented it would save me a bunch of time. What do you guys think?

  • That was a no from me, but all my games are in 1 room separated by system in aphabetical order so I know where they are. Every where I go they will go with me. In your case though it would seem like a good idea but you would still have to manually do each one. Maybe a drop down for each system would be better.
  • All my stuff is in the same place. If I ever PCS and don't have room for it all, they will stay together in tubs labled NES, SNES, Sega ect...
  • I think the notes section works. I probably wouldn't use location.

As for your stuff, why not just send it my way
  • I guess it would only be real useful in this instance. Thanks for the input guys. I was still planning on using the notes. I didn't expect this to get implemented right away if at all.

Mindl3ss I'll give it to you if you go to Guam for me. I'll take care of it while you're gone, though.
  • You could start a new collection and call it "In storage" or what ever you'd like. Once that is done there is an option to  move specific titles to another collection by using the check boxes on the left of each title while in your specific collection pages.
