Beefed up the DS collection!

3/9/13 Had to take the SAT today and was totally burnt out and tired after it. Then I remembered that I might've had something waiting in the mail. And I did Got it from an awesome user on racketboy (don't know if he's here as well?) named chupon. $48 shipped, and having fun with it so far

3/6/13 New addition to the HM collection. A bunch of plushies that were preorder swag for some of the DS games! The cow I'm pretty sure is from ANB, the llama is from Tale of Two Towns, the horse is from Grand Bazaar, and the Yak is from ANB. And now I have another copy of Harvest Moon: A New Beginning and since I haven't even opened up my brand new copy, I'll probably be just using this one to play or selling it. I'm pretty content with these plushies since I am a huge fan of the series! Don't judge! They are some pretty nice plushies.

3/4/13 These were waiting for me in the mail today! So happy to get em since I needed them for the collection! Tingle's is still sealed Chrono Trigger was from a trade here (shoutout to ryanflucas!) and Harvest Moon was feebayed.

3/3/13 Got this lot just tonight for $100. Well worth it to me, since I needed ALL of these titles. So excited and happy to finally get to play these and cross them off my list all at once! Guy had some other titles, but I already had them. Dude wanted $135 at first, which was already a great deal in itself, but I managed to get him down with the bulk purchase. Everything is complete and in amazing condition.

Games are: Megaman ZX Advent, Lunar Knights, Final Fantasy III, Children of Mana, Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, Phantom Hourglass, Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time, The World Ends With You, Custom Robo Arena, Fullmetal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy, Metroid Prime Hunters, and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (which by the way, still had the slip cover!)

I managed to snag this while Aksys had it up on their website. It's the yellow watch! I hope to eventually get the others (Red, Blue, and Green) and plan to get the other one when it comes out. I'm stoked to try this game out!

Overall, super happy to add some variety to my DS collection! Another small thing I managed to grab was My Japanese Coach which I was too lazy to picture but I got it for $17.99 complete at Gamestop

  • Sweet score, unfortunately I know nothing about DS games. But looks like a solid score to me.
  • I wonder if that watch will inject you with Soporil, then a nerve toxin to cease your breathing... The game is awesome, I believe the 3DS version has a save-erasing bug, if you save in a certain room, it will corrupt your file. Might have to do a read up on what room that is before you start playing to make sure you don't have it happen. I've spent about 60+ hours in this game, just doing different puzzle difficulties and such, a great workout for the mind.

You got a decent deal on the DS games, those usually go for around $10-$15 each.

Yeah I heard about that I would've got the Vita version but I don't want or have a Vita lol.

But yeah, I feel like I did great on the DS Games especially since I needed them all!

  • Some really good games in there, nice find again.
  • I've been lookin' for Children of Mana, Lunar Knights and Golden Sun DS myself, although I think I might have enough DS RPG's to last me a few years yet... Haha.

The World Ends With You is supposed to be amazing from what I've heard.
  • Super jealous of that lot, I need all of those too. Not a bad game in there, and for a great price.
  • Everyone on here seems to luck out SO hard on CL; my area sucks. The majority of posts are people fielding for SNES and NES games; it's a field of "why bother" in New Hampshire lmao.

    Bravo on the finds, friend!
  • You got robbed on my Japanese coach, but super solid on everything else.
  • Reply sweet deal man. Im super jealous of the Japanese coach complete for $18!
  • Guy had good taste. Nice buy.
  • double post
  • You inspired me to check my Gamestop for My Japanese Coach and they had one for the same price you paid, however they have tossed out all the cases for their DS games (aside from the most brand new releases) and put them cart only in a glass showcase. Fuck Gamestop.

This is assuming they don't have just the cases stuck behind the counter or something which I presume they don't, when you got yours was it like that?
  • Thanks guys!

Yeah dude I definitely reccomend checking out your Gamestop for some of the out of print games that they might have. And nope, they still keep used game cases. There are a bunch of other games I still need to pick up like Summon Night and Nostalgia, and though I'd be paying retail for them, it saves a lot of time instead of having to buy it online and wait for shipping and PAY for shipping. Not to mention I still get the games complete and the cases in pretty swell condition. See the thing is, I have 2 Gamestops near me, one in the mall, which usually never has any good stuff (old-wise) and is always crowded. But there's another one in this mini outlet kind of places (just a bunch of stores put together in an area) and that Gamestop usually has less traffic than the other one, so I'm guessing that's why they still have some quality stuff there. I'm thinking about going back and buying others like the Castlevanias as well as games like Nostalgia and Summon Night since they are complete, and though I'd be paying retail for some, it'd save me a lot of time from buying on ebay and having to deal with all THEIR shit.

tl;dr Always check out your Gamestops! Especially the ones more out of the way that not many people can get to easily. They usually have some good stuff. That's how I get Rune Factory 3 and MyJapCoach for great prices!

Anyways, new finds added! I'm really starting to LOVE collecting for DS. I love the artwork on the cases and the cases themselves. And I guess the games are alright too
  • I wish the 3DS version of A Tale of Two Towns wasn't broken... hopefully some kind of patch has come out since then. DS Version is playable atleast. Pretty cool you found a PAL Tingle, I like the clear cases on the PAL DS games.
  • I've been hooked on collecting for the DS lately as well! Nice watch for VLR--I've been wearing the yellow one I just got. I saw you mention the Red and Blue watches, but there is also a green. Such a fantastic game! If you save before you enter any of the puzzle rooms, you shouldn't have any issues with potentially losing your game.

I know the Tingle is sealed, but that is a great game as well.  It's the only PAL game I have, but it was kwirky and quite a bit of fun--though it was frustrating and times and tended to drag on.
  • You should get Last Window: Secret of Cape West. Most likely will be a rare PAL DS title in the coming years. English too.
  • New addition!

Woops! I forgot that they had already released it lol. I missed it then.

Looks interesting, I'll think about giving it a shot!
  • That cow is amazing.

Before I read the post I saw the picture and I thought it was a cat stuffed in a plastic bag.  I see the cow now, but at a glance I was terrified.

  • I've been wanting to find the stuffed animals for the Harvest Moon pre-orders, I was handed about 10 or so hats from the Scribblenauts Unlimited leftovers, get some weird looks at work when you're stuffing 5 pink and 5 red strange looking hats into your locker.
