empire's pick ups thread

Rather than spam the small finds thread, I figured i'd make my own thread, seeing as i'm getting a lot of decent hits lately.

So today I had a job in a town about 2 hours away. After I finished I noticed there was a sign in front of a shop saying they buy and sell video games. Pulled into a parking lot and walked over. He had some good prices, so I grabbed Baseball Simulator for the SNES and 3 Gamecube manuals I needed for $1 a piece. Then I saw he had a display with a couple boxed N64 games. I saw this sitting there, knew it was somewhat valuable, but I passed at first. When I went to pay they didn't take debit, so I had to go next door to an atm. I texted my pal K3vbot on the way and he just said "buy it". Not a bad purchase I think.

Cart is really nice, a bit of sticker residue on the front but it'll come off easy, and theres hardly any on the label, also has a sticker on the back. Box has a crease where it was opened and a bit of a loose flap, otherwise it's really nice too.

Comments

  • Not a bad GameCube haul for $77, got more gamecube games in one day than I've gotten in 4 years.
  • Updated with 2 new finds.
  • Jeez, now I know where all the GameCube games went, I remember EB telling me they were all being sent to the island (I thought they just threw them out and used that as a cover story), But apparently it's true.
  • Very possible, the amount of those ugly yellow stickers I have to clean off games is sickening.
  • I'm glad they stopped using those stickers a while ago, almost all the thrift store games I get are covered in those damn yellow squares.

So maybe when it comes around to when we're finding 7th gen games in the wild and such, they'll be clean, or just have a green sticker on them. Blockbuster and Rogers stickers will still be a pain in the ass.
  • I find Rogers/Blockbuster likes to put the stickers on the actual paper cover instead of on the plastic, nearly impossible to get those off. At least the EB stickers come off with some effort.
  • don't forget the stickers on the DISC itself, and writing on the discs... and those stupid "Void if removed" silver stickers on the manuals.
  • Updated with a new pick up.
  • Looks just like a Z Bag but I've never seen one with Mario and Luigig on it before.
  • Damn, I love that!
  • Bumped for my ISS2k find.
  • Been awhile since finding a nice haul. Today I grabbed 22 CIB GBA games and 15 Gamecube games, also a Gamecube system with 2 controllers, a Wavebird, and the cherry on top; a GBA player with the disc. All for only $100. All the GBA stuff is going into the collection while the Gamecube stuff is mainly doubles and will be flipped. I should be able to make my money back. All the GBA stuff is CIB with bags, and aside from a few crappy games, they're in amazing condition. Some look like they weren't even opened.
