Awesome score

I got a text from a friend of mine a few days ago saying he was at a garage sale and found a box with 80+ NES carts and a system with 4 controllers, advantage etc for $50. Icalled him immediately and told him to  buy it and I would drive the 30 miles to pick it up shortly. When I arrive he carries out a huge box, I look in, see a few gems, and pay him more than he paid. Heres a few pics.

So pumped since I had to sell my BB2 last year when in a bind so getting another at a steal was amazing! Today I found a GB Micro famicom version at a pawn shop today for $30.. This may just be my month! I will get a list of all the games in that lot up as soon as I get a chance. There were 81 NES and 6 SNES games witht he system, 4 controllers, advance, four score, zapper and all connections.

  • Nice find. And those games cleaned up very nice.
  • I need to take another pic, I got all the marker off the carts themselves after that photo was taken. I got marker off the labels with a dry q-tip, alcohol wouldnt do it, guess it was dry erase marker.
  • Score, dude! That's tight!
  • Gloryhole seal of approval.
  • Very nice score! Don't forget to show off the Godzilla 2 I saw in there also. Not as huge as Bubble Bobble part 2, but still another higher dollar, HTF, title.
  • SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE!!!!! Damn I wish I could score something like that. I haven't found anything at all in a while.

  • Man, what video game store does that to their games.

How good does it feel getting a cart like that and bringing it back to life

    Awesome score!

I hope you're shouting your mate a pizza for that
  • Such a sick score. The condition of those gems made me cringe a bit but they sure cleaned up really nice. Awesome score!

I was just going to say the same thing about Godzilla 2. As I was looking at the pic of the box of all the carts that's the first one that jumped out at me.

Tha'ts pretty awesome that you paid your friend a finders fee too. Good man.

  • Damn. To those cleaned up nicely. Did you throw your buddy a little extra for the hookup?!
  • Simply amazing. That's the best blind purchase I think I've seen in a good while.
  • Nice to know there are still glorious finds out there...sick haul dog.
  • damn, It's going to take a lot to top this!

Sweet find man!! Good friend too
  • Man thats an awesome score! How did you get the marker off the labels so easily? They look great.
  • One of the more exciting finds I've seen in a while. Very nice!

  • nice score man!
  • Nicely done!
  • Nice, I'm so JELLY!!
  • Damn. Well played. I'm certainly hitting up garage sales this spring and summer. And I didn't realize marker could be cleaned up so easily. I really must try it.
  • Awesome!

    What were the SNES games?
  • Man just that Jetsons alone paid for the whole lot!And you got BM2 and BB2!Congrats bro!
Btw,that Mega Man 4 is looking good too!
  • Thanks guys!, To answer a few questions:

Yes, I did pay my friend a finders fee. He buys storage units and hits auctions on the regular so when he comes across this stuff he hits me up

Marker on the label: I started with a copy of blue marlin that had the same markings on it and began with rubbing alcohol and qtips. I was having little to no luck. I had a bit too much alcohol on one attempt and switched to the dry side of the qtip to dry it off... While doing this, I hit a spot that had no alcohol and it squeeked like shoes on a gym floor, but the marker disappeared. So I took dry qtips and rubbed the marker and though it made a horrid high pitched sound, it came off very easily. The tape removal was not difficult, just take your time and go slowly. Alcohol to remove the glue residue afterwards.

Marker on the cart: I used goof off and I DO NOT suggest it. It worked fine on Bomberman 2 but marred the texture on Jetsons. I would love to hear how others have removed it from the cart with better success.

I wil be putting up a FT soon with the dupes from this lot. Most of the rares are staying here but theres a few goodies to be had.
  • What's that gold Camerica game?

EDIT: Forget what I said, I see you'll put em fT, and not fS :/
  • all kinds of good stuff in that box. the three you showed, darkwing duck, castlevania 1 now is like 20 bucks, godzilla 2, galaxy 5000 is pretty uncommon hard to find. Tons of good stuff in there.
  • Awesome find!! Congrats!!
