There was a copy of Die Hard on NES I once saw at a local game store for like 10 dollars. For whatever reason I didn't pick it up, and when I finally decided to go and buy it later that had realized the error in pricing and fixed it. It was still under ebay price but for whatever reason I didn't buy it again. Then when I once again decided to buy it later it had been picked up by some one more intelligent than I.

I'd really like to get my hands on a copy of Die Hard...
Look at the second picture... I thought about it long and hard, and was ready to drop about $150 on the lot, just because of the Ninja Five-o box. But the condition and current funds as well as all the shovelware I would get with it without any inserts made me pass... Still would be nice to have that box for under $100 though.
Guy posted an N64 on Craigslist with 8 games for $100. I got to it quite quickly after it was posted, opened up the ad, and bam, Conker's Bad Fur Day. Immediately texted him and asked if he'd separate some games, he says sure, I tell him Mario 64 and CBFD. He asks what I'm offering and I say "Well you're asking $100 for the console and 8 games, so does $20 for Mario and CBFD sound fair?" he shoots back "What about $25 since Mario is the system seller?", I tell him sure. We arrange to meet tomorrow, work out a time and place, and he actually tells me he's removing the two games from the ad without me even asking him to. Sure enough, one second later the ad is off Craigslist presumably while he retakes pictures without those 2 games.
Literally not 10 minutes later, some piece of shit texts him and tells him that Conker is worth $100. I get a text from him "Wow man, someone just told me that Conker goes for $100 in used condition on ebay". I guess he must have seen the ad before it was removed and waited on texting him, or just texted him a bit later than I did and got told that CBFD was taken already.
Saw an ad last night for a NES with 20-25 games for $125. The lot included Gun Nac and Dracula. I texted the guy and we made arrangements to meet. I get there and both are missing. I ask WTF and he tells me he sold them to someone else for $5 a piece. I was so pissed he wasted my time, I tell him the only reason I was going to pay $125 was because it included Gun Nac. He asks what I'll pay for the rest and I tell him nothing, I don't want them since Gun Nac is an $80 game. I don;t know who was more irritated (me cause I missed out on GN) or him when he realized he sold the most valuable game for $5.
^ what the hell is with people. You set up a deal with someone and then go ahead and sell games that were part of that deal to someone else. That story shows up all the time here. People need to learn how to honor their commitments. What gets me is they always act like its no big deal " oh I sold those two to someone else" .

For some reason this always happens to me! One time with an NES lot, the system with 20 games for $100, a bunch of crap and megaman 1,3,4,5 & 6... When i get there later that evening the guy sold all the megaman games for $25 bucks!! I told him i was willing to buy the whole lot just for the megaman titles and that i didnt even want the console or any of the other junk... People are idiots i swear!!!
More recently (but not game related) i drove 45 minutes to buy a junky old BMX because it had a set of original Skyway Tuff 1 mag wheels. When i get there the wheels are gone and said "Oh, some guy emailed me and offered me $50 bucks for just the wheels"... Again i go home empty handed, and i dont know if theyare shady or just STUPID!?!
Not a huge loss, but ended up missing a CIB Castlevania IV and inbox Act Raiser 2 for $60 shipped due to being ill and asleep at the auctions end. Beaten by $4 Another time perhaps.
I was going to pay $50 for a decent lot of around 25 Gamecube games (Mario Party, SSBM, etc.). In the pic the guy sent me, they all had cases. I meet up with him and he hands me a grocery bag full of discs. As I scan around the bag, I don't see any of the titles in the picture, only games like Shamu and Pokemon Channel. I ask him where all the cases and other games were, and he said they were all broken so he didn't bring them (why have them in the picture?). I ask him for them, and he says he'll give the cases and other games to me for another $30. I handed him back the bag and drove away.
I found a guy who has an NES Sharp tv and 50 games for 300. I offered 250 and he agreed. An hour later he tells me someone offered more. I told him we already agreed bit making a few more bucks was more important.
so upset, i run a flea market booth everyweekend and i usually go around and pick up others game stuff but today i went cashless. one collector i sell to every weekend came in shopped and about ten mins later comes up to me and tells me that a lady in the front of the place just sold a ROB for $5. i run over there seeing if i could buy it off the guy who bought it for a lil extra and he refused and said its going on ebay.
to think that i could have got a rob for $5 if i did my usual run thru and grab the random game stuff makes me sick
So there is a flea market not far from where I live. In this flea market, there is only one vendor who sells video games exclusively (He is a reseller but hes a cool dude). Anyways, I took a month or so break from going to the flea market because I was busy on the weekends the past month. A week and a half ago I was at a local game store, and he tells me that the guy at the flea market sold a turbografx 16 with games for 100 and something dollars. At first I was only a little bummed because i already have a TG16, but would have loved to see what games they were as HuCards (let alone TG-CD games) are rare around here.
So I went to the flea market today, and was browsing through the games (all pretty much different ones on the shelves to look through this time so that good at least) and I decided to ask if he had any Turbografx "anything". He says, "No, not any more. I did about a week ago, had a TurboGrafx console with 2 controllers, all the hookups, and 30 games. Some CD and some of those cards, for 150 bucks".
I have never seen a TG-CD game for sale around here. He soon found out the mistake he made, because the guy who bought it gave back a duplicate game (not sure which one) and he said he sold it later that day for 30 bucks. He said he knows the guy is also a reseller and he watched him piece it out of eBay and make over $1000. He was angry, but I was heartbroken, lol. Oh well, I have found some other sweet things else where lately, once relocate my camera and cord for it i will upload some pics on the happy part of this section of forums.

Has happened to me a lot. I live in a small town but visit a few nearby large cities often enough that I peruse their local kijiji sites. I've had probably close to half a dozen people sell stuff that I had agreed to buy simply because they could get to their house before I could.
I was an idiot and passed up a great buy - 120 BIN for Lunar Silver Star Story Complete (PS1), Lunar 2: Eternal Blue (PS1), GBA Lunar game, and Lunar Silver Star Harmony for PSP. He had an auction option as well, so I figured I'd try my hand at that instead, save a few bucks. Lost the auction at the last second. Final sale price: 122. What a fool I was. At least the seller made an extra two bucks.
Don't know if this is the place to ask, but I was at a flea market last weekend and saw a Japanese Ghostbusters 2 for Game Boy for $8. Unfortunately, I had bought some magazines and a few cd's and didn't have money for it. Would that have been worth something?

Missed out on an amazing deal on cl this week, 2 jaguar systems, 1 working cd unit all the cords, controllers ECT, 15 cib games + a few cd titles. Amiga 32CD system with a couple of games for the low price of 125.00
Garage sale last summer. Got to a sale at the same time as some random old lady. She was a bit in front on me, I scan around for about 2 min or so and I walk over near the old lady and she is finalizing a deal w the owner on a huge storage tub of 32x games, sega cd, genesis etc...and all the consoles. Rare games....games had cases and boxes. It even contained an original first gen sega cd. I saw a few random 64 games like Mario Party, etc. Then to make it worse I heard her saying she had a grandson and she "thinks" he likes video games and he is 5 years old. So she brought this all home to a 5 year old....which I guess is pretty neat if he keeps it and some day appreciates it. But it totally took my legs out. Also, she got it all for $20. So I stood there and wanted to freak out, I wish I wud have followed her to her car and told her what she had and offered her some money. I estimated the lot to be worth $500 only based on what I could see from the top. I haven't stopped thinking about it since, no idea what else was at the bottom of that tub.
I just missed a nice condition loose copy of sculptor's cut for the n64 for only 24.99, boy am I angry about that.. Literally their store said yeah we have it, but it had been sold like within the few days previous to me making the trip out there. So bummed, and and OgreBattle 64 too as well. Bad luck this past week I guess and I am not paying 1-200 for a copy I'm determined to make a good find eventually..

i would have asked her on her way to her car if she would take 100 for the box of stuff. Her grandson wont understand sega cd and 32x games and with the 100 she could take him out to get a ds or something.

The games were junk and beat up, as well as the tv. If he didnt want to sell at 250, he could just say no. Sorry for trying to save some money...jeez
