Mega NES Finds! 03/10/13! Also need help!

So this lot came up on craigslist here locally with this guy saying he had 6 original NES games for sale for around $20, but that 'tomorrow' he'd have another 20 or so games for sale if people were interested. I was feeling particularly lazy this Sunday and I ended up sleeping in until about 11am or so. I wake up and I'm flipping through my phone trying to wake up and I see his ad. I decide to shoot him a text and he sends me a picture of the following NES games:

Also saying that he had the loose games, as well as some Sega 'Genesis' games. He says someone is offering him $XXX for everything and that they're supposed to call him by noon but they haven't called yet. I inform him I have cash and I can meet him wherever he wants for the games. He says that'd be good and we set up a meeting. I meet him at the gas station and the 'Genesis' games end up being Master System Games:

So naturally I'm pretty happy until I see some moron (Not this guy) has scribbled T. Lee over ALL the goddamn boxes. I tell him that this seriously effects the value and he says that's just how he got them originally. So I talk him down from his original price some more and we agree upon about $80 for everything shown. We shake hands, part ways, and then I get another text back that I shot off to someone before I even talked to this guy saying he has a SNES as well as some other games. So I head over to his place and buy the SNES from him, and a bunch of other games that I actually already sold for around $40, as well as the Virtual Boy shown here with no stand, and the controller that you can actually plug into the wall and recharge for around $10. And then I found a beat up Pokemon Red for $1 a Sonic Spinball, and a Resident Evil Survivor for around $2 apiece at various Thirft Stores around town.

So basically I got to sleep in, got some really good games, and walked away happy. My only question is, does ANYONE have a semi-safe way to get marker off of cardboard? If i could just erase all the T. Lees off of these I would really be sitting pretty.

Any advice, guys?

Also, as always, anything I post up here is FOR SALE and will probably be in my for sale thread within 24 hours or so.

  • Does anyone else want to punch T. Lee? haha
  • Well, at least "T. Lee" didn't throw his boxes away. You can be thankful for that!
  • At least T Lee had good taste in games.
  • One day these 'T. Lee' box variants will be highly sought after, and I will await that moment!
  • Try a dry erase board eraser for the marker. Flatten the boxes out and give the marker a good scrub.
  • hmm rubbing alchole will pull it off but u may remove some of the color two id find a new box for your microwave or something u have in the garage and write on it and test different methods on it

  • Maybe we can send Billy Jimmy and Bimmy to punch their long lost cousin Timmy in the face for writing T Lee on them

In other news I have some boxes with REOS written in huge block letters on them so you're not so bad
