actually, dream, you are right. there are what, 5 of the gold cart? 1 of the proto used to create ALL of these repros, and it WILL cost more to pry a gold repro from collectors hands as opposed to purchase the actual proto. yup, that makes a TON of sense!!!

Perhaps, but say someone were to put theirs up for auction tomorrow...do you *really* think it would go for more than the $600 or so (I forget the exact amount) that the proto sold for?
Edit: For the record, I believe I gave $200 for mine (thanks again, Nick!)...
$600 may be pushing it, but there is no way the current owners would sell theirs for much less than that! and are you sure that langer was able to sell the proto for $600 after he dumped it to make repros?
mb7241: I bought the proto for $600, because no one else would, so yeah, take me out of the equation and I almost guarantee you someone would buy the gold cart for more than the proto, that is why there is sheer ridiculousness with these homerews out here. People paying hundreds of dollars for "gold" versions of homebrews/repros swapped from Zelda carts? Man oh man.
haha yup, it is nuts! i have no interest in the gold versions or LE versions of the homebrew releases, other than sivaks!
but people who are crazy and want to have all homebrews just spend tons and tons and tons of money on them just to say they have them! oh well, people are allowed to do whatever they want with their money!
