I walk really fast - I know what I'm looking for and can spot it a mile away..
I walk so fast sometimes, that my wife makes me slow down.. I can normally spot video games from 2 or 3 booths away.. except at the junk booths, then I have to dig.
Flea markets are normally my best source, but sometimes Craigslist has better results..
I don't have very good luck at the local flea markets and yard sales. This would be a great place to pick up 2nd hand modern games, though, due to the churn of enlisted men.
I walk pretty slow through Flea's, but only through the tables that have games, or if they look like they might have games (a place with a ton of VHS's is a place that "probably" has games, even if you can't see them).
I walk super fast, to the point that no one wants to go to a flea market with me. I can spot stuff several tables away and make a Vline for it. I used to do very well at fleas and local game stores, but I rarely go there anymore.
I walk through flea markets pretty fast unless i see sumthing good. Most of my good finds are actually classified ads,one time i got 87 nes games 3 nes systems and a super nes for 100 bucks.
I wouldn't call the street vendors at Queen's Day a flea market, per se. That's more of a street festival, with your standard food vendors, t-shirt sales, and random stuff.
Flea markets tend to be kind of like malls (established/permanent vendors), except trashier and with a bunch of open booths.
I used to go to flea markets/yard sales, but I got so sick of hearing, "Yeah, I had a bunch of stuff, but some guy came by and bought /everything/," that I don't bother anymore. I'd rather pay a bit extra on eBay than waste my time not finding anything at flea markets.
Local game store has actually tended to be the best for me, but I do find stuff at the flea market. I've gotten to the point that I'm in pretty good with one of the guys that runs a "video game store" there, he also walks the place early. If he buys it and it's something I need, he'll hook me up with it for what he's paid for it 9 times out of 10.
Yard sales are mostly a miss for gaming stuff, one of the other flea market resellers hits the ones in the area super early and super fast every weekend. But since I also collect Christmas lights, I like to go to them anyway (since I'm pretty sure noone else does, at least not around here) and pretty much always find something.
This past weekend I went to yard sales until around 11 and then hit up the flea market. The only game find I saw out of probably 12 yard sales was an NES with 5 games for $20 at one of the yard sales (all common games, everything was filthy, and the NES was short a hookup) that I didn't buy. But I did get a plastic box (about the same size as the one I took to the expo) full of Christmas lights for $5. Then at the flea market I got FFF Athletic World and a CIB 10 Yard Fight.

And I usually find the majority of my video games on eBay.

It was a pretty average trip.
