collapse all pm's from user into one line

I like to keep messages but it gets ugly prett fast. suggestion:



one line per user in main messagebox view

latest post text as teaser

sort inbox using latest post time- when a user sends a new message, their line gets moved to the top



so, kind of like gmail, but I'm ok with all message from a user grouping together. there's no need to make subgroups of "conversations" like gmail does.



also it would be nice to have the selection checkboxes available when viewing messages, so I could pick out the non-important messages within the message history to delete, without having to find them by teaser in the inbox list.

    I also think this is a great idea, but it's a lot more complicated than it seems, and I want to make sure I can do it efficiently. It's primarily due to the number of records we store -- if we mess anything up in this area, it could bring NA to its knees. Right now we have close to 4 million private messages, so screwing that up would really suck
