Staged is a pretty baseless accusation... it's not staged and they've only ever even had one find over the course of the show significant enough to even be worth staging.
Well, two big ones. Dinosaur Peak for $5 and Little Samson for, I think, $15.
Quite a few decent ones too though, i.e. Battletoads/DD, Ninja Gaiden Trilogy, etc.

I don't get the love and respect these two get as they're nothing but a FEMA disaster that rolls through various retail locations and flea markets showing the place off with their (as it appears) staged finds going nuts and then the stores get aware they were taken as saps and all the deals are gone and in cases like quest their said, won't even deal anymore at all with people as they know what they really can get thinking they're ebay and not local retail. The shows I guess are fun enough to watch if it's harmless to you, but when it rolls through an area then it can affect you in ways that really suck. In a way it's like bitching about that Mattei guy with his 'rare cool game' videos and then stuff goes up in value supposedly shortly after.
I wouldn't be surprised if 'the return' for this one was having to find some people who haven't been hit who will learn unless they really don't care at that trade show, and I see Pat being normal there again too which will get more cross interest too.
The same thing happens at stores nationwide, including ones they haven't been to. Goodwill and other thrift stores have been pricing shit ridiculously lately. Calling it staged without any proof is a pretty baseless accusation, they seem like stand up guys who have done nothing different than anyone here other than taping and posting their videos.

Ah yeah, forgot about the Little Samson.
Don't forget Contra Force also. Though obviously not as valuable.
Yeah, they do alright. They obviously put a lot of time into it. And what's funny is Little Samson and F2 were back to back episodes if I remember right, that's what makes me think it's not staged. Also that the prototype was found "off-camera."
I like the show, but again, it doesn't effect my area as much as a lot of y'all sudners. It does some, garage sales have gotten a lot more competitive, but it's not the same.
I don't really blame any shows for the price hikes that have happened. I blame Wikipedia and Ebay. Give it 5 or 10 years, the prices will adjust accordingly. Once people stop paying boneheaded prices for games, resellers will go out of business and the retro collecting community can be happy again.
