Anyone have an NES?

Wondering if anyone has a working NES for sale?  Thinking about the Retro Duo, but if I can find a NES that would be great!  They have them on ebay but would prefer to spend my money here.

  • if do get an NES, chances are that the 72 pin connector is worn out. you can find a "refurbished" unit for probably $25 or less. Or, if you can find a non working unit, they can go for as little as $10. The 72 Pin connector can go for $20 alone
  • here is a link to a place that I ordered my new 72 pin connector. I would recommend them. You can "mail in" your system for repair ($40?) or buy a refurbished one, or even buy the 72 pin connector alone. Its super easy to replace. It can be done in 30 mins or less. You will spend more time taking apart the screws than swapping out the connecter

that's simply not true, at all. If I saw an NES even at a thrift shop I'd pick it up. step 1: clip the lockout chip. step 2: simply clean the connector. sure, there's the chance of bad pins but it's not like these things expired 4/19/2013.

Thanks for the offer, but even if I had the connector I doubt I could replace it.

Thanks for the replies everyone!  I've been offered an NES with 2 controllers for $60 so I'm going to think on that for a day or so.
