Found a rare variant on eBay ( not going to say what it is so no one backdoors the buyer) and messaged the guy and asked if I could BIN for a certain amount, he says someone else just asked after me for the same amount and asks if I'd do $1 more, I agree.. He posts the BIN and I got a little busy at work and miss it........
I had two auctions on eBay that I was following but I knew I wouldn't be at home when they end so I just decided to not bid on them since I figured I wouldn't win anyway. The first one was a Gamecube lot with the console and about seven decent games plus a CIB Mario Dance Mix in awesome condition. This lot sold for 34
I was going to put in higher last minute bid than what this auction ended for, but forgot. I don't use sniping tools and would rather be at the computer at the time. If I can't be, oh well.
Anyway, I thought the auction would have ended for much more mainly because of what I saw. In the lower right corner of the first photo is the item that, when this auction was going on, had two or three completed items that alone went for about the price of the auction itself, i.e. $110+. I don't see any complete items up currently so I don't know if those two-three were flukes but I don't believe so. Oh well, maybe another day.
Skagit valley craigslist(35 minute drive for me). Sega genesis with 50 games. $40. Emailed him within a half hour of it posting. No response until 36 hours later when he told me they were gone.
Not a big deal but sad to watch. At gamestore and college kid walks in with 2 GB pokemon games. They give him $9. He walks out they price them at $32 and $25 respectively.
I walked into a game store the other day and caught the tail end of a trade in deal. I heard Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger mentioned being the bulk of the trade credit being offered. When I took a look at what was there, I remember seeing all BOXED SNES games including FF3, CT, Lagoon, Gradius 3, Robocop vs Terminator, and a couple others that I didn't catch the title of. All the boxes were in just excellent shape.
The guy who did the trade in went around the store and grabbed about 6 or 7 games from Xbox360 and PS3 and I think his order came to around $120 and he had to pull out a small amount of cash to make up the difference.
My heart just sank Not blasting the store in anyway, just wishing I caught the guy when he got out of his car in the lot and would have bought them before he got into the building, lol.

Dont know if this kinda post belongs here, but since its a Finders type of thread, Ill assume it may go here....Im new to this site but Ive been trying to collect for the past few months...mainly asking my friends and hitting up the 4-5 Goodwills around here...Ive stopped by my parents house a few times coming home from work to look for some of my old Nintendo stuff I knew was in a box somewhere...well, tonight I found it....Im pretty pumped about it...all the N64, SNES, and Gameboy boxes have all the stuff inside...the advertisements, carboard/plastic holders for the games, instruction manuals, ads for Nintendo Power and whatnot....the 10-yd Fight even has the game inside with the black sleeve and foam insert in the bottom...then there are a bunch of VHS Nintendo Power that I got from my subscription over the years.
I went to my local Value Village last Thursday and walk over to the case where all the games are but there is an old woman blocking the whole case with herself and a cart. I walk over and take a peek at the games - SMB2, SMB3, Adventure of Link, and a few other decent titles for $4 each. As I glanced over the case the old woman glares at me and snaps "I was here first!" at me while she continues to talk on her cell phone. She was talking to her son and asking him what games he wanted and then she yelled at the lady behind the counter to help her. I walked off pissed off at her attitude.
Maybe one of you guys got some decent games from your mom (grandmother?) recently and good for you but she was a real *****.
Today I went to the flea market down the road, and I saw a guy with computers and a PS2... I asked him if he has some retrogames and he told me that earlier some guy bought him a SNES with circa 20 games and a NES with the same amount of games < FOR CHEAP!
Let's just hope I won't see a classified with these pop up...
About a half hour ago some guy posted three Sega Mega Drive games on that craigslist like part of the german eBay for 35€ in total. And two of the games were Mega Man Wily Wars CIB and Alien Soldier CIB!! Both these are in beautiful condition. I messaged him and thought a half hour was enough time so I might be the first. But somebody beat me to it and now I'll cry for the rest of the week ;(
Had a deal lined up since Sunday to buy a Gamecube component cable for $10 from a guy on Craigslist who had posted an ad for a PS1 AV cable and the GameCube cable for $5 each. We planned to meet today at 11 AM since his girlfriend had a doctor's appointment at a hospital near me. Woke up at 8 in the morning to head out with my brother since he needed to be out that way anyway, waited till 10 when I was basically across the street from the hospital, and called him. The dude gave me straight up, bold faced bullshit on the phone that their appointment had been "rescheduled" and he'd call me back. Tried to call him again about 5 minutes later and my number was blocked. Ad is reposted on CL tonight with only the PS1 cable.
Best part is I'm sure whoever backdoored me probably offered him like $20 and I was going to counter with $50 if he would have just nutted up and told the truth instead of lying like a prick.
Decided to pop into Goodwill today for like 5 minutes on my way home, and found my first ever sealed SNES game (or even boxed SNES game period) in the wild...
A $10 copy of NHL Stanley Cup.
It was sealed with the hang tab and Toys R Us stickers on it and everything. Kinda cool just to find and hold, at least, though I feel like I may have got beaten to some other sealed games.
This has probably happened to everyone who has been collecting long enough.
Saw a guy selling his "collection" on craigslist. It wasn't really a collection so much as everything he has amassed since childhood. I didn't have a lot of money so I could only offered him half of what he wanted because of a lack of cash, but at the same time his prices were everywhere. He priced a SNES Mega Man X CIB $25, SNES Legend of Zelda $10, DKC2 CB $10. Then he has a Wii priced at $100... WITH NO CONTROLLERS!!! He priced his Wiimotes and Nunchucks separately! A Guitar Hero Guitar at $10, Sports/Guitar Hero games at $5, and ultra common PSX/GC/Wii games from $5-$15, 32" Sony Tube TV at $50 (the kind people post free if you haul). I tried to reason with him that Guitar Hero guitars have no value and most sports games are worth a $1-$2, but his opinion the prices were fair enough that a reseller could make some good money. He also lived too far away to purchase just a couple SNES games at his prices.
Today he updates his post and all the cheap SNES stuff is gone and all the common games remain.

I would've waited outside just to taunt him over how stupid he just had been.
Well... not really... but I would've been tempted to.
I had answered a local ad for a ps2 slim with 10 games, xbox1 with 8 games and a psp 3000 with 5 games entire lot was 60.00 obo I called the night before and talked to a lady and got better info on the games etc a mention of final fantasy sealed it for me.
Well i asked the amount she said well its listed for 60 but i will take 50 i repeated the quoted amount back and she agreed it was correct. I set it up to meet at noon today and drove 30 mins and called to get better directions and found the place right off.
I knock on the door and a guy answers and I asked if I was in the right place he hands me two bags crammed full. I grab my wallet and he asked how much did she say I said 50 well he goes off and says thats not right no no no no i want 150.00 she misunderstood the price I told her blah blah blah....well I explained my side and he basicly repeats himself again. I tell himat that price id have to have proof everything works and see everything. He then tells me the ps2 works the xbox doesnt read discs nor does the psp. But im getting a "good deal" for 150.00...no the good deal was when it was 50.00 not telling me one price the night before
Then after 3 calls total up and triple the price when I arrived
Nothing I can really complain about. A persons yard sale is their own sale, however here's my story from today...
CL ad for garage sale advertising 64 console w/ 4 controllers, hookups, and 40 games plus Gameboy with 18 games. I work until 3:30 and its a 40 minute drive from there. Anyway I email this morning saying I'm buying and ill be there after work if they hold onto everything for me. To my surprise they replied and said okay. Great.
Fast forward to after work, I show up and say I'm the guy who they were holding for and the lady says "I didn't think you'd be that long so I sold it already. Sorry." The Gameboy too? "Yes". So I asked if she didn't mind disclosing what she got out of it all...wait for it....$50. I pulled out the Ben Franklin I had pulled out of the bank to give her and said I ha planned to give her extra for helping me out. Turned around and walked away.
Somebody out there depending on the titles (really either way at less than $1 per game and systems they win regardless) is laughing all the way to the bank. I am sad. At the least I got some tacos from my favorite taco joint. Might go for desperation pawn shop stops as well.
