Update March 27 - 360 KIOSK
I was driving home from work on wednesday and was debating on stopping at this guys local flea market/pawn shop since its about 20 minutes out of my way and I was ready to get home. Another reason is his games are mostly overpriced NES and SNES are 9.99, but are ALWAYS on sale for buy one get one free. Every now and then I find some decent deals, but never anything better than a boxed DK1 and DK2 for the SNES (so together they were 10 bucks, not too shabs).
I decied to go and head straight to the back to check out his games, there are a father and daughter in the back sorting through tubs of n64 games (at this point they're almost all sports, how shop owners never notice this idk). He sells the n64 at 17.99, and always buy one get one, so basically 9 bucks a peice. I'm just sorting through the junk sports titles when I hear the dad say, "bad fur day", what the hecks this (at this point my heart drops, I say to myself "crap! don't keep it please!!) and to my delight the daughter says "i don't know" and dad throws it back in, so now I'm just waiting in anticipation for dad to be done with that tub, if I can find another decent title a CBFD and one more game for 17.99 isn't too bad!
Once dad is done with the bin I dig through it, find conkers, and to my suprise I find ANOTHER CBFD!!
So, long story short I picked up TWO Conkers BFD, and together they cost me 17.99 plus tax, I already own them both and have been saving for an SNES Powerpak (I try to fund most of my collection off reselling doubles) - so they are headed to ebay.
I passed on a 29.99 mini snes (which killed me), but I already have three SNES (one of which is a mini) and I try not to hoard, lol!

Good Find! I have a similar story. I was at this store that sometimes sells cartridge games, but nothing usually ever CIB. Well, I was there this one day and the same thing happened to me. About 5 years ago. I looked up at the shelf and there was a CIB copy of Final Fantasy NES for 2 bucks, a Mega Man 6 cart for 2 bucks, Ninja Gaiden II CB for 4 bucks, 2 SNES carts (one of them was Robotrek, the other was an awesome game but I can't remember) for 2 apiece, Kirby 64 and Dr Mario 64 carts for 2 apiece.
And there was a guy completely blocking the shelf. His forefinger was passing by that shelf, like he was about to pluck them all. Then it went swiftly down to a copy of Grand Theft Auto III, grabbed it and moved, and I was like THANK GOD, HE'S A MAINSTREAM GAMER, LOL!
Then I quickly stuffed all the awesome games into my hands and paid for them.
And the clerk said "I just put all those out!"
And I was thinking "You had to have just put them out, otherwise they would be gone. These games don't SIT, LOL!!!"

I got a conkers for $4 at my local thrift. along with harvest moon 64 and ogre battle. all the same day.
Wow.
That just reminds me of another story. Hope you don't mind me posting it.
I was at an op shop looking through the videos ,and I turn around and this oldish man (about 50 or so) was going through the CD's and grabs out 5 SNES games and 3 NES games, all cartridges. I thought he was going to buy them but he then put them back and I ran over there and grabbed them. They were $2 each, pretty basic games but one of the NES games was Mega Man 3 in excellent condition.
So when it comes to collecting I'm a cat, a deadly, stealthy, chincey, cheap ass, cat. I wait for good deals, and then I POUNCE like RAWWWRRR - lol!
Recently an ad for 24 games, a game & controller case, and a NES ad on Craigs popped up. I e-mailed the seller b/c there was no price and he said $50.00 - DEAL!
Picked up the games, added 14 commons to my collection, got doubles of Castlevania 1,3, Zelda 2, and Mega Man 3, all 3 of which I've already sold on E Bay for $55.00. After shipping and envelopes thats about $40.00. So I'm sitting at $10.00 for all (Haven't sold the NES yet) AND I have about 9 doubles, plus I added the extra games, got the game & controller case, 2 controllers, one wireless remote controller, zapper and the NES chillin! ....
Not too bad, and this was an old guy who had every game in the game case slider IN A dust sleeve, so the games are some of the cleanest I seen. I'll show pics of the case soon, but not bad considering after my E Bay sales it all cost me 10 Bucks!!! My first find in a bit!
I made a quick stop at a usual pawn shop on the way home from to see if there was anything new, here's what I got for $35.00 even (see pic)
NES // Rampage (Ooops , already had this)
SNES // Street Fighter II , Pocky & Rocky 2 (some peeling on the end lable *sigh*) , TMNTurtles In Time , Zero (the Kamikaze Squirral) , & Castlevania 4 (which cleaned up quite nicely)
GC // Resident Evil 3 (Nemisis), Resident Evil 4 NFRS Demo Disk, Tales of Symphonia , & Mario Power Tennis

If the dad had looked like he was going to keep it, I totally would have dropped in a casual "you know, that game's not really appropriate for kids".

Ha ha ha, smart thinking!!
So I didn't know what its value was - no idea so I kind of stared at it, sometimes I think if I've never heard of the game it could be rare-ish. Also, I think we just develop somewhat of a skill when collecting a lot. So to me it was something I've never seen, and looked like an RPG. RPGs on the SNES are usally pretty good, and collectable IMO. So based off these factors I grabbed it (for 3.50 you can't really loose).
Using my gut and and some minor knowledge of how game collecting works I've now gotten that game, and Bonks Adventure (NES) for under four bucks a peice!
Stopped at a really dumpy pawn shop, got the X-Box and Game Cube with no cords, controllers, games, or guarentee for $5.00 a peice. Whether they worked or not I figured it was a score, the GC had a memory card in it, and they BOTH WORKED!! I didn't have a black GC yet, so NICE!
The PSP is a 3001 model, I grabbed it with 10 games, a 1 gig card, charger and case for $55.00. I turned the games into Game Stop immidiatley for store credit and grabbed the Metal Slug and Harvest Moon DS games you see in the pic. I don't need the games because I mod my PSP's for Emus only.
The rest of the games I picked up for $3.50 a peice at a local pawn shop. Not bad in a months time I guess, just wish there was more NES and SNES in there...
I can't spell, I know
