Does anyone make N64 Game Cartridge Controllers?

I'm trying to find one because it's soooooooooooo cool... I must own one.

Does anyone make them or can make one?

This one has a built in rumble but I don't care about having that.

  • I've never seen that but now I want to try and make one.
  • ...no dpad at all?

Oh, asking if you can make them...if you're asking, you probably don't have the skill to. Also, your sig is way too big, keep it SMALL, it's not a billboard.
  • I would bet if you put a bounty out there, and it was big enough, someone might make one for you. I'd probably start off at like $40-$50 and move up from there if you don't get a response, since I doubt there's many (if any) people on here who have ever done it before. Plenty who could figure it out though, and would if the price was right.
  • 40-50 is a little light for that much work, the Z on the back is bondo etc.

I think I might actually make me one of these, except not in a N64 game case. There needs to be a better choice for the controler part of it.

If I complete one similar, I'll send you a picture, and maybe I can make you a pink one lol.
  • That controller looks better than the original, both aesthetically and ergonomically!

I know it's sooo cool, and if you dont have large hands it's

perfect... the only reason why I didn't throw a price out is I

don't know what one is worth... but I want one >.< !!!!!

  • That is one awesome controller right there. I'm amazed at the creative stuff people come up with.
  • its awesome, but no D-pad means no WcW/nWo....no wrasslin, no care.

I don't play any games that involve using the D pad... so me no care about Dpad... me want this controller!!!!!

  • I think making one would require

    A) a lot of bondo work to get the buttons sit as they should, including the Z button

    B) a custom circuit board

    or

    C) Clever hacking of existing controller boards to fit the case

The circuitry isn't too advanced, it's just the sculpting of the case that is really hour-intensive.

So what do you think is a right price to pay???

(Just a tip, you'll want to type your response outside the quotation, like this, so it doesn't appear that you're adding to a quote)

  • I was typing outside the quote box but then somehow it jumped inside the box and I couldn't get it out... it was weird.
  • I'll try to make one and if I succeed I will post it here because this looks neat and I have a few controllers laying around
  • I hope no one will be mad that I will be destroying a copy of nfl blitz
  • ... you shoud sacrifice Superman 64... then it will finally have a noble purpose.

Found a work log of the guy who did it http://www.made-by-bacteria.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1343

  • I love bacteria and this looks pretty easy compared to some of my other projects I tried.

Edit: Another Superman 64 is dead, lets give a moment of cheering to honor its life

    Great point. Wolfpack for life.
  • And no Kirby 64.
  • You know what? I ain't gonna lie, I grabbed a N64 cart to imagine what it would feel like. Not too bad, actually. lol

  • I'd dance on a grave of dead Superman 64s such a bad game.

but the N64 Game Contoller.... me wants it....

What I think is a right price to pay? Well, I'd say the cost of the cart being modded plus the hours that go into the build.

So I'd probably come down to a figure of 40-60 USD. This is a rough estimate though.
  •  That sounds fair... but i might send a cart and joystick to who ever makes one for me though.
  • someone please make one!
  • I'm making one right now, shrinking the board is hard to the size of a game
  • Not alot of excess metal?

  • No the board for the controller is a bit too big for the game cartridge and I'm not that good at shrinking boards
  • Any pics of progress???
