Strange Sega of America Phantasy Star Hint sheet - Found in a CIB PS case

So I recently scored some Sega Master System games on Craigslist as one of them was a mint Phantasy Star. It was complete, but also had a 4 page stapled hint sheet from Sega of America with hand drawn maps. It is so informal and unprofessional it has unique charm compared to the over the top industry of today. Have any of you seen any Phantasy Star hint sheets like this or any other Sega of America hint sheets for any other games?

I will actually scan these and drop a link here in this thread for any of you that want to print them off.

  • That is probably pretty rare, these fax hint sheets were usually only obtainable by calling the company and requesting help with the game. I have one or two of these, I wanna say one is from Tecmo for a NES game. Nice find, and some copies would be much appreciated!

They were sent out when requested on the Tip Line at SEGA.  I ran into a decent lot of these and they have been popping up with CIBs here and there.  Definitely a cool one either way!

Here's a quick pic of the lot I picked up:

  • Please scan them! Id want to print a copy. This was my dads favorite game when I was a kid. I want to get him a master system and Phantasy Star. I think a copy of this would be really cool to include.
  • Very nice! I did not realize that sent anything to help you. This was pre-prima and pre-game faqs. =)

Thanks for the post! I'll have to keep my eye out.

This site is pretty awesome for SMS information. This link has numerous scans of the tip sheets you speak of.
  • These are always a great bonus with a CIB SMS game. I have 5 or 6 of them (Zillion, Fantasy Zone, Alex Kidd in Miracle World, a few others). Not sure if they really add anything to value, but I have seen people charge a premium on certain titles (a Golden Axe Warrior I saw on eBay a few months back with a BIN about $50 or so above market value leaps to mind). Phantasy Star is, to me anyway, an especially cool one to get, and you might be able to get some extra bucks for it if you were thinking about selling. Scans may have the same information, but there's something about that 80s paper. Cool score definitely, color me jealous
  • <3 Chip. What up dude? Hang around SA plz. I can easily see these going under valued. Not too many people are after the paper. Ever since I got my everdrive, I switched towards the paper side of things. Magazines are my main focus right now
