All the spoilers about who will live, die, whos good or bad you can find in the 1st season of the show... and even then you will have a hard time because every character talks about himself/herslef in allegory.
edit: And you're right, it's not the same woman, and she isn't there.
Well its not the "same" woman as in the books, but she is certainly playing the same "role". In the book she is left at Riverrun with the Blackfish (Cat's Brother, the big badass with black armor in the show), as they didn't want to offend Walder Frey.
Prior to this episode there was a lot of discussion among book readers regarding Jeyne's (Robb's book wife) was pregnant or not . A lot of it depends upon her mom's intentions:
Was she on Team Stark and then switch sides, or
Was she always on Team Lannister.
There is a lot of foreshadowing in the book she was pregnant, and some clues that would indicate she is alive and with Stark friendly characters. Hopefully we'll get a 6th book sooner than later so this loose thread can be clipped.
GRRM (author) has had a lot to do with the show, including writing an episode per season. I can't imagine any "game changing" ideas are done without his consent. In fact he's told the show creators and even some of the actors, the end game.
I'd say the book series of events was probably that a) she wasn't pregnant (her mom claims to Twyin she's been giving her a birth control drink )or b) she was pregnant in the books, but when the tides of war started changing her mom gave her an aborticant (in this case Tansy, I"m sure). After seeing last nights episode, I think it was number 2. Lots of foreshadowing in the TV series that can only be picked up on by book readers or those that are very focused.
I love seeing this reaction. Now all of the show watchers know how us book readers felt.
And no, Talisa is a made up character from the show, playing the role of Jeyne Westerling in the novel who is not present at the events of the Red Wedding. Catelyn is killed in the book as well.
The whole House of the Undying sequence was one of the lowest points of the show unfortunately. I knew they couldn't have shown a lot of the prophecy stuff from that, but it was still embarrassing. Khal Drogo being there was awful.
My only complaint about last night's episode was Grey Wind deserved the death he got in the books, with him ripping arms off. I guess they used all the CGI wolf budget on Shaggydog and Summer attacking Wildlings.
Yea, all season I have felt the wolves were not getting enough screen time. I had so much anxiety coming up with that bedding scene, that I didn't really get to enjoy the fight at the windmill.
On to more important issues regarding the TV show, hottest female on the show. I used to think Dany but now I'm going with Ygritte all day. I'd refer to them by their real names but they all look so different on the show than IRL that they're almost like different people. Except Ygritte , she's just as hot on Dowton Abbey in her little servents uniform as she is on GOT.
Amazing episode. I love how they kill of main characters. Really keeps you guessing what's gonna happen next. Me and my wife where just as shocked when this happened.
If the character is over 15 and has any redeemable qualities then chances are they will be killed. I am taking this approach to prepare myself in the future. Though I might have to eliminate the first part with the way this season is going. (haven't read the books).

I didn't understand this part either (after hearing about how it went down in the books). Did they not want to show Grey Wind being brutally murdered because of violence against animals or something?
rickroll, you say the Starks aren't the good guys. Would you say everyone misunderstands the TV show thus far, or do the books depict them less favorably? I know you say the events prior to the show and everything, but the only thing during the show I can think of (although I am forgetfu and don't always pay attention while watching) is when Rob breaks his oath. Which seems par for the course on this show.
Like, I have heard people say Jamie should have been considered a hero for the lives he saved as the Kingslayer, but I can only have so much admiration and sympathy for a man who shoves a 7-year old out a window.
Jaime is a grey character, as is Tyrion. TV Tyrion however has been made more sympathetic, more likable and rarely does anything that makes him such a compelling book character. He's set up to be the fan favorite, which book Tyrion is, even with some of the despicable stuff he does.
Jaime I feel is the most complex character in the whole book series. Book 1 sets him up to be this archetypal, arrogant villain, and he's largely absent in book 2 because of his imprisonment, but Martin brilliantly smashes cliches and tropes and makes Jaime one of the most interesting characters in a fantasy book. He by far gets the most discussion on his motives, if he should be viewed as a hero, a villain or an anti-hero, etc.
I didn't understand this part either (after hearing about how it went down in the books). Did they not want to show Grey Wind being brutally murdered because of violence against animals or something?
I'd imagine this has more to do with budget issues than anything. You gotta remember that just a few scenes earlier, we saw both Shaggydog and Summer attacking Wildlings. It would cost considerable time and money to have a CGI wolf killing kennel dogs and ripping off arms, while being shot with bolts. Plus there's the whole thing of us not having Raynald Westerling in the show to free him.
The wolves in general just do not get much screen time as they should. Summer and Shaggydog are important, yes, but Ghost is just as important as was Grey Wind. In the books, Grey Wind senses the Red Wedding, growling at Freys.Robb, being the moron he is, thinks Grey Wind is just wild because of killing people in battle. Robb did not trust his direwolf, which was one of the things that was his own fault for leading to his downfall.

If I say more stuff here, then I would be spoiling the show for people...Author wants you see them as good, and other characters too and then in the end author will rape your brain with the ending. I don't know if you read books or not, but noone knows the ending yet...2 more books have to be released yet and author R.R. Martin is having a hard time of catching up, which either may ruin his last 2 books and the show all together or just make TV fans, or books fans drive mad. Either way, if there won't be a huge major blows in plot, the ending is already known. If someone ready to give up their prediction to a rape, I can pm you the ending in just 3 simple words.
I'm worried that his health will start failing by the time he gets to work on book 7...also, in interviews, he has stated that he doesn't know if he'll have the story wrapped up by book 7, and may need to write more books after.
Has anyone read the Wheel of Time series? I loved it up to a point, book seven or eight, it started getting a little crazy, but the author of that series was also older, over weight and terrible at sticking to deadlines. Sadly, he never finished, though his wife or someone did, but yeah, that's not the same.
On another note, Catelyn definitely dies at the RW in the book. I don't know how someone could think she survives. Guaranteed to have died.
As someone who loves the books and the TV show, don't listen to rickroll. He's just enjoying the attention he's getting, and is talking out of his ass. All characters on the show have shades of gray to their morality, but to say the Starks are the bad guys is completely inane. He's just trying to confuse people, so disregard his posts.

The last 3 books were written by Brandon Sanderson and they were pretty true to the rest of the series. About Catelyn, yeah she dies but.....
I saw the title of the latest episode and knew almost exactly what would happen! I was eagerly anticipating it the whole episode and knew that there would be many surprised. My girl was shocked and speechless right after the event unfolded. It was odd seeing the Queen of the North at the festivities, as I do think she was not present in the book series and is still carrying the child.
I am so glad that they did not sew the head of the direwolf to Rob's body... but I suppose there is another episode. And, yes, Lady Stark is technically dead.
I am happy that they showed Bran entering Hodor, though it left out all of the emotion and stuff that he felt entering the humble giant.
LOL at all the spoilers already in this thread, other random forums, and article comment sections. Really glad I read these before they got popular enough that it became a target of internet assholes. It reeks of that traitorous Theon.
Although I will acknowledge it is hard not to spoil. 5000 pages worth of books and 30 hrs worth of TV has really started to blur.

Yeah this is ridiculous how people wont stop it. I try my hardest to protect the TV show viewers but it's a losing battle it seems.
Back to the HBO show (and not the book...please don't post anything about what happens the books!):
I just watched the last episode, but the 9th episode of season 3 left me in tears and in shock. I could not sleep at all last night after I saw it and was tempted to call out sick as well.
Tyrion, Arya and even Jaime are my favorite characters in the series so far.

Jaime is starting to become cool, at first I hated him, but now I'm liking him. Still, The Hound for life.
The Hound is creepy, but having a past like that makes you like that it seems. I do like how his "allegiance" has shifted from the Lannisters to the Starks now (at least Arya and saving Sansa from the group of men who were going to do nasty things to her). So The Hound is okay in my book.
Theon Greyjoy is getting what he deserved, but damn cutting his manhood off is super harsh.
And poor Jon Snow. Damn Ygritte for trying to kill him. Ahhh, I can't wait for next season!!!!
I have to think that if Ygritte wanted to kill him, she could have. She just wanted to poke a few holes in him for what he did.
Yeah agreed, love that she actually shot him.
Regardless of what Jon's done to her you have to be pretty strong will to go down on a ginger tomboy who's been running around in animal furs without a shower for months. He's the real hero of the show.
