Tsop adapter question

Recently bought this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/190792505353

T
o program Snes carts. Got some AM29F032B chips from buyicnow.com and my GQ-4X isn't identifying anything.

I'm guessing it has something to do with there being solderable looking jumpers on the board...how do I get this fugger to identify? Thanks guys!

  • Anyone please? Halp!
  • You didn't give us any information really.

In the text you didn't say you actually boy tsop boards. did you buy them per soldered to a tsop adapter? What TSOP did you buy.

    The jumpers are important.
  • Sure I did.

I bought that adapter in the link. I bought the AM29F032B chips to program on that adapter board on my GQ-4X...

What else is there to know?

I plan on soldering the chips to adapter 3 boards once they are programmed.

You have to program the chips before you can solder them to an adapter 3 board...
  • No u didn't sorry, not really. It's rather confusing what you're asking.

so the chip isn't identifying on the gq-4x? What I was asking lol is are you using a programmer adapter to program the chip or did you have the chips on the boards from buyicnow? Have you burnt other EPROMs to see if the burner works?

This kinda stuff helps us identify what you have and how to help.

Solder the chips to the board, solder the jumpers and attempt to erase/flash.

    Good luck.

Did you BOTHER looking at the link???

It's an ADAPTER that you plug into your GQ-4X, and plug the chips into to program.

I'm not sure wh you're having difficulties understand my question. Everyone must go through this when they first get one of these programming adapter boards.

  • You may have purchased the wrong adapter. According to the device list, the GQ-4X needs a DIP32 adapter for the am29f032b, and that's a DIP40 adapter.

You should be able to fix this in software. There may be a text file that you can edit to add the proper footprint.

    This...

I was leading to this and a little more of course. So, Yes I looked at your link

I think you'd be better off having buyicnow burn the chips for you for .50 cents.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you.

Any idea what kind of line I'd be adding to the text file?
