chr ram size

hey everyone!



Im just checking quick before i do it, but does the size of a chr rAm chip matter?



Well, i should clarify.  Can i use a 64k in place of a 8k chip?



I did some searching and couldnt find much on the exact question.



My goal is to use what i have available, and i have some repropaks layin around, im just looking for clarification before i go to town on these.

    You should look up the pinouts to be sure. don't know what you have for 64K ram, but here's a link for generic 8K ram: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/6264

    Just compare pinouts like Lincoln said. Also, there's not many games that need more CHR-RAM, so it's not useful unless you need to use it now. And even then, make sure you have a PCB with the CHR-RAM R/W PPU pin. It's next to the two pins that are connected together on the pin-through side.

    I'll double check again tonight when I get a chance.



    Also, Its kinda hidden above, but the repropak should work for the ram I have, but i'll verify the pinouts then. Thanks!
