Question about a Wii Mario Bros Hack

So theres a new Mario Bros Wii hack out called "Newer Super Mario Bros Wii". I'm sure you guys know all about it. As it is, they want you to just run it through Riivolution with the OG Mario Bros disc. I plan to do this, but it got me wondering about patching an ISO.

I guess it'd be too risky to do NOW, but in the future it seems like Wiibrew and hacks like this one could become something pretty rad for the "repro" scene. I mean, since its like taking candy from a baby to mod the Wii, I feel like things like this could become pretty popular in the future when Nintendo stops paying attention to it.

Is there a way to patch an iso with a hack like this and burn it to a disc? You could have a shelf full of really dope hacks some day when people work them out!

I assure you, I'm not simply trying to pirate the game. I'm on this collectors site because I collect games. The original copies of games. If this is treading too deep into the potential piracy waters, I apologize. I'm just a curious mind, you see.

  • I believe it is possible, there are iso files on the internet prepatched for NSMB Wii hacks (although I am not about to point in any directions).
  • You could put your NSMB hack onto a disc, but it wouldn't work in any unmodded Wiis.
  • Thanks guys, I found a group of people working on just making a pre-patched ISO...not really the direction I wanted to go (since I wanted to make my own) but yeah, there are pre-modded ones out there.

Its quite a process to do it from what I'm reading. Waaaaaaaaaaay over my head. But yeah, thanks for the replies dudes!

Edit: At someone made a batch file that patches it for you. So sweet. I also found a buttload of other NSMBW hacks that I'm gonna eventually be printing out some custom artwork for and adding to my Wii collection. AWESOME!
  • I'm fine with just the patcher running the patch on a regular game... BUT.... I love this game so much I just wanted to make my own dvd label and case cover. All the other covers out there I didn't like much, so I went ahead and made my own.

ETA: Yes, that hammer bros. Mario is custom made too.
