16bit version of NWC and Stadium Events

I've been toying with the idea of trying to get someone to make an upgraded version of NWC and Stadium Events into 16bit format and put it on a Snes cart.I was wondering if any of you learned repro makers think it's possible .I know very little on repro making ,but I would think it's possible with all the awesome repros people having making recently.

  • Anything's possible. The key word is practicality.
  • Interesting idea. Has anyone ever rewired a PowerPad to an SNES to see if they can grab controller inputs off it? I wish I had the know how to do that myself...
  • NWC is mildly enjoyable, SE straight sucks. I don't want to play either on my NES, why would I want them ported to the SNES?

Seems like a complete waste of time for little benefit.
  • NWC is more enjoyable if you have a game night of sorts with buddies.

I can't find any redeeming qualities for SE.
  • SE is just a collectors piece, nothing more, nothing less. NWC is definitely fun with a "Select" few buddies, I have a lot of friends who wouldn't touch a NES (8-bit, 16-bit etc. anything less than a Ps3) lol.

The power pak can be rewired, if anyone is interested.

  • Step one. Learn to program!!

He may not have time nor the desire to learn to program. His question is simply to ask if it's possible.

MRN let's to make kids cry
  • I guess the Super Mario Bros part could be from SMAS and the Tetris part could be taken from Tetris+Dr Mario...Rad Racer would have to be upgradet to 16 bits from scratch...which would make it...Outrun.

    Or Top Gear 3000

  • Thanks guys for the feedback!
  • I dunno, the Stadium Events that were made as an April Fool's joke are fairly valuable nowadays. I think it's a neat idea. It's obviously possible, however, I think NWC is clearly a better option than SE. But, if you would re-wire a power pad for the SNES, which I'm pretty sure it possible, but I can't say with any certainty, that'd be neat. So it gets murky because you'd have to figure out if you want it to work WITH a power pad on the SNES, then for both games you'd have to decide if you wanted it as much true to the original as possible or if you wanted graphics and sound upgrades. Then, dip switches for NWC?

Either way you go there are a lot of decisions that would determine how difficult it would be. Making a SMAS/Tetris/Outrun (or Top Gear 3000) glorified hack would probably be easiest (without dip switches). But if you're not interested in learning to program it, finding a programmer to do the work for you would either be very difficult or you might have to pay them.

Why not Mario Kart (Rainbow Road)?

Sure that would be a good choice, I figured Top Gear 3000 was closer in resemblence to Rad Racer.
