Make a SNES cart of a Sega Genesis game?

Might be a strange question but does anyone know how to take a Sega genesis game and put it onto an SNES cart? More specifically wondering of Toe Jam & Earl. Probably my favorite non Nintendo game and I don't feel like just starting up the Sega for it anymore. If you can I'd gladly pay!!!

Thanks

  • Not possible.
  • Really? Damn that's too bad. I don't know how repros or making games work but I thought it might be possible to get it on a board somehow.
  • Different CPUs, VPDs, and sound processors. You'd have to convert everything Genesis specific to SNES. It's doable, but nobody wants to deal with it. It'd be easier to code it from scratch.
  • I have a solution...

Buy this and you will be able to play your Genesis games on an SNES.

    HA, very true.

OP,  I don't think you have the wallet for the amount of money it would take to making create a game from scratch . Now if you did, I bet a lot of people who be contacting you

  • I'd do it for a mere $160,000
  • Why such little love for the "Sega" around here? You people oughta be ashamed of yourselves.
  • I'm ashamed you have to bring it up every time. It's inferior to it's job, not out fault. Still, there's not hate here even or ANYTHING. It's just not magic games appear on systems.
  • Every time I hear someone call the Genesis a "Sega", I'm reminded of how much people around here bemoan non-video game types who call the NES wrong things, like Sony or Xbox.

    Best bet, OP.

  • I really don't understand what the difference between buying a Sega Genesis, and buying the RetroGEN. It needs it's own composite cable, which is stupid, because it pretty much defeats the purpose of using an adapter.

It would be much more impressive if they managed to get the picture out of the SNES's PPU, but the picture quality would suffer due to the PPU's limitations.

The difference is when you buy Sega Genesis you get the original console, and when you buy the adapter you get a shitty clone.
  • Exactly. Get the real deal, buy a Genesis. There's lots of hardware to choose from, but most go with the classy Model 1. The RetroGEN has the usual sound and video problems common to Genesis clones. It's not worth getting just to "clear up space". Either respect the Genesis and make room for it, or emulate it on a PC or something.
