Any idea who the original winner was, or is that who you bought it from?
There was no original owner from what I understand. The cart was left behind at the Hynes Convention Center (along with a few others from what I'm told) after the competition left Boston.
It's a sort of interesting thing that sometimes folks who are not from New England will refer to any town in the Boston area as simply "Boston." I suppose that kind of thing happens all over the world near various cities. Sometimes I'll go to a concert and the frontman of the band will thank the city ("Thank you Boston!"), but they will often just choose the nearest one to the venue to give a shout out to, no matter if it's 2 hours away or not. In the same way, the show in Massachussetts was actually in Worcester, MA at the Worcester Centrum, now known as the DCU Center, and not the Hynes in Boston (about 40 min from Boston). Perhaps this is what he meant? Any chance the seller might be able to confirm this for you?
The seller was from Southie, and told me in great detail about the event at The Hynes Convention Center. He didn't seem like the type that would venture out to Worcester. His buddy was also a Boston guy and worked security at the event.
Could there have been some other event at The Hynes? Maybe the whole story is bs, but he seemed sure of himself.
I almost got the 50 coins in Mario, but I've only tried a few dozen times now. Rad Racer, here I come!
In all seriousness, owning this game has pretty much confirmed that I am the worst NES player on the site.
Worst second to me!I can get past the Mario segment easy enough, but I totally suck at RadRacer .And Tetris another story,my wife can kick my butt she gets a higher score in that area than I do.
Nice to know I'm not the only shitty gamer. Love games, love playing, but I SUCK! Never played an nwc but I'm sure I'd blow.
