Gamereproductions.com - Scam?

In November of 2010, I ordered a reproduction cart of Final Fantasy III for NES from the game reproduction site GameReproductions.com.  At the time, I had previously ordered an Earthbound Zero reproduction from the site and I was highly satisfied with the quality of the cart itself and the punctual delivery time of the order.  Needless to say, I expected the same kind of customer experience with the Final Fantasy III cart I ordered.  Unfortunately for me, I was wrong.

To start off, I ordered the cart and recieved the Google Checkout receipt e-mail on November 13th, 2010.   I then recieved the order confirmation e-mail from GameReproductions the next day, November 14th, 2010.  In the confirmation of order e-mail, the seller notified me that he would mark that the order shipped in Google Checkout for some unknown reason, but told me to keep the one month timeframe in mind anyway.  Sure enough, a message from Google Checkout saying my order had shipped arrived later that day.

So I wait a month, and the game doesn't show up.  So I wait another month.  And another.  And another.  Before long, five months pass. At this point, I'm getting a bit concerned that the game isn't coming, so on April 21st, 2011 I send GameReproductions an e-mail stating my concern and asking when I should expect the game to arrive.  Within a few hours I recieved the following response:

"Should of had that months ago"

And so I wait a little while longer.  Actually, a lot while longer, as by September of 2011 the game still hasn't arrived.  So I send a message to GameReproductions via the contact us page, again expressing my concerns about the fact that the game still hasn't showed up.  And sure enough, on September 5th, I recieved the following response:

"Heya, ill have to order parts for those since I have discontinued it.

You should of got that thing a looooooooong time ago."

And so, yet again, I wait.  And wait.  And wait.  Then, nine months later, in June of 2012, I send yet another e-mail about the game, but this time I don't get a response.  I sent another message in Febuary of 2013, and at least one a week for the past two months, yet I still haven't got a response.

Which brings me to today.  When it's all said and done, around two and a half years have passed since I ordered that Final Fantasy III reproduction cart and it still hasn't shown up.  Not to make accusations or anything, but from where I'm standing it's beginning to look like the seller is ignoring me and I won't ever see that reproduction cart I dropped exactly $45.03 on.

This sounds more like your mistake for not being prompt with the issue. Sounds to me it was lost in the mail and then you come back months later saying you never got it. If i was a seller and mailed something and i hear from the customer 5 months later about not getting it then I wouldnt believe them or do anything. if you did something sooner you could have avoided this or even got compensated from the seller or post office.

  • The thought has crossed my mind that I'm partially at fault for not being prompt, but the bottom line is I spent money on a product I never received.
  • Bottom line for him is he sent a cart and now 6 months later, you're making him send you another.
  • Yeah, chalk that one up as a loss, you should have got on it a lot quicker.
  • You can't sit on your hands for over two years, with only sending two extremely passive emails along the way. Would you expect Best Buy to take a TV back because you claim it was broken on delivery, 2.5 years after you bought it? I don't know about everyone else, but if I pay for something, I'm on top of it until I have it in my possession and I know it works. Take the loss and mark it down as lesson learned.
