  • I've also had this happen to me, but I'm not sure under what circumstances. But, I have edited posts and it doesn't indicate that I have edited it. Hopefully this doesn't cause problems for NA auctions.

For reference, here's the thread this just happened in:

    http://nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=6&thr...

The post in question should be the last one as of this moment, however, for longevity it's the reply at Tuesday, June 25, 2013 - 08:55:53 AM.

I created the reply to that thread at the timestamp mentioned, 8:55AM. Then I went to work, leaving the tab open, hoping to easily check back on the thread (order pending, blah blah blah).

So without refreshing the page, I edited my post about 10 minutes ago. The timestamp never updated, and there's no indication that the post was edited. I'm assuming you'll be able to verify the 6PM edit on the back end for verification.

I find this interesting, and this bug could potentially be abused in some of the "wilder/loud" threads...

I'm not sure I understand exactly. When I look at your thread, completely logged out (or logged in), it says, Edited: 06/25/2013 at 06:09 PM by jonnylentilbean, which is what you indicated. Editing a post does not change the original timestamp, and shouldn't. Is that what you're reporting as the bug?

wow, this is quite weird. I hard-refreshed the Chrome tab, and the "Edited" notification wasn't there. I opened Firefox, which I literally never use, and the "Edited" notification wasn't there. That's when I posted.

After seeing your post, I refreshed yet again, and now it's there... what in the world...

I wish I had screenshots. I swear I'm not crazy, I develop software for a living! Well I'm probably crazy for that, but still, I suppose there was some propogation lag or something. Thanks for checking, I guess..

  • I wonder if it's due to the 15 minute window we use for allowing Ninja Edits.

So long as the "edited" notification eventually comes through, even after a 15-minute delay, and that's the cause, hopefully it won't affect auctions as hindsight will be key.

    thanks again.
