NintendoAge Phone App

Browsing forums and posting on a phone is not not the most enjoyable experience.

Has there been any talk of ever getting something like this off the ground? Or maybe one exists already, although I searched the google play store and did not find anything.

Gotta be an app designer among the members somewhere. I would gladly help donate to support this.

x2, this should almost be in the FAQ now.  The "cornerstone icon is too big on mobile browing" topic comes up at least 4-5 times a year it seems.

  • I don't want this thread to turn into a "Omg cornerstone it won't go away" type thing. While it does help with mobile browsing it still is not an enjoyable experience. Just wanted to see if there would be a ground swell of people who really would like to see this happen and go from there. Or maybe it's just me and nobody really wants or needs an app? Haha ya never know.

Or maybe NintendoAge is written and designed by 1 person, who is a normal guy with a family and a life.

He works alot of NintendoAge, but a mobile app is not in the cards at the moment.

He recently did a site redesign to help with the layout on both NA and mobile NA.

Where did I say an app needs to be created by the person who wrote and designed the site? Like I said earlier, maybe there is an app designer among us who would do it in their spare time or something as a pet project.

I think some of the forum design is proprietary?  Someone correct me if I'm wrong.  If I'm right, then your answer is Dain, if I'm wrong then your answer is nobody.

ninjaedit (thanks for this!):  this is not a dis to anyone just trying to get at the OP's question.
  • Just got done reading NA on my phone a bit and I'm wondering what is wrong with the main OR mobile site where you even want an app?

You can write an app that doesn't connect to the internals of the servers and just parse the data in a streamlined format fit for an app. Facebook's app isn't written by Facebook, it's written by a 3rd party developer that doesn't have access to the servers aside from what the general public has access to.

    I learned something.  Thanks

  • I am totally for this as well and would donate to help it happen. It could also include a version of the collection section so you could easily add or take away games from the list out in the wild. Also, the forums being more phone friendly would be nice.

Hope this sparks someone's interest. If this DOES get going and people are taking legit donations, PM me and I will help out
  • an app would be awesome, but someone with the experience and ability has to step up. No pressure on anyone.
