rare/uncommon/hard to find/just plain expensive sega sports games

So I thought this miht be a fun topic to talk about. As collectors many of us know the rare/uncommon titles that surround each system. Unless somebody is going for a complete set though it is hard to know what, if hardly any at all, of these are hard to find/expensive for those who know what they are. I came into a rather nice number of sports titles for the sega saturn. I was wondering if there were any of them that would be hard to get again that I might want to keep. As far as the genesis goes I only know of madden 93 some special edition bein hard to find complete. Are there any titles for the saturn? If you feel uncomfortable with this topics or don't want the mast numbers finding this thread, please pm me as I still want to know.

    Rare can also mean not expensive and I know of a few genesis sports games that fall into this group. Now don't break the door down to get these but the the orignal John Madden with the green softbox was somewhat time consuming to get but luckly it appears for under $10 all day or used to when I got mine. Hit the ice, I had a real hard time getting a manual for that and we all know the blockbuster madden is the gem in this genre. Some of the later 98 versions of sports titles are hard to find as they didn't produce as many.

    I still need one of the green softbox Maddens! The only ones I've run into were in pretty poor condition. Recently I've been after sealed titles for a little fake store display.

    It took me a long time to find nice/complete copies of Slap Shot and Sports Pad Football for SMS.

    Not sure about loose/CIB, but College Football's National Championship was a bitch for me to find sealed and in nice condition. The first Madden has eluded me too.

    This is great info guys. Thanks for the interest in the topic. Any Saturn stuff anybody knows about? It seems like the Saturn collectors really just for for the JP set because they had so many more games. I don't know though.

    There are a few rare sports games on the Sega CD. John Madden Champsionship has a variant as well on Genesis. Sega Saturn has Daytona CCE Netlink, among a few others.

    NHL 98 CIB was the game that I just could not find. Then I go to a thrift store one day and they had it for $1.50. Go figure.

    I knew about the Daytona Netlink edition being super hard to find, but I don't consider racing a sport or I would have mentioned in my opening statement. Thanks for the invo though.

    This was for Genesis. I am working on a complete Genesis set and I had most other common sports titles but that was one that just really stayed away from for the longest time.

    I have a proto cart of "NHLPA Hockey 93" for GENESIS/MD.

    Damn, I have all the genesis sports titles listed.. Lol never knew any of them were hard to find bc I got them all in one big sports title lot.
