How to Remove PIN from Mini Super Nintendo?

Hello all,

I have a Mini Super Nintendo that I would like to clean up before I even power it on and I need some assistance. I am trying to remove the PIN from the motherboard of a mini Super Nintendo and I can not find anything online should me how to properly do that?

Please post a link to a tutorial if there is one or briefly explain the process. Again, I just need to know how to remove the PIN from the motherboard, lookslike two black plastic tabs are holding it together. If pictures are needed I can also supply them later. If anyone can help I would much appreciate it.

  • The mini has a soldered on connector I believe (someone correct me if I am wrong). Meaning you will have to desolder all 62 pins to remove the connector and then resolder them when you put the connector back on.
  • It cant be removed without desoldering it. Is there a reason you need to remove it? If your just trying to give it a really good cleaning just use a toothbrush and alcohol or other "electronics cleaners" you can get at radioshack.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I supplied some pictures. Again, I haven't powered up the system yet, I have a feeling that it was never turned on with the existing corrosion too.

The toothbruch is a really good idea. Can you recommend a good electronics cleaner for stuff like this?

Thanks. There was a cleaner at Radio Shack and it was $14.99 for the bottle, didn't really want to buy without some recommendations first.

    np dood.  good luck!

  • I bet you are referring to DEOXIT. I used it before on my MP3 player that was super corroded from my sweat during marathon training. It did work but didn't last very long since that bottle is tiny.
