Sonic 2 Print Variant
So iv had this sonic 2 print variant for awhile, At first i thought it was just the mega drive version when i saw it, but it says genesis, and the cart is the one that comes with the cardboard box version with the sega seal sticker on it. what can you tell me about this?

The box is from the Canadian release.
That cart, with that sticker is from the cardboard release.
That manual would have been packed in with the European releases. It could have been packed in with the Canadian release, but my Canadian copy of Sonic 2 has a regular upright Genesis manual.

I just rechecked my Canadian Sonic 2, and it does have the Euro style manual. So yeah, just the cart is off.
Also, interestingly enough my Canadian Sonic 2 has a US UPC sticker with the 10086 bar code placed on the outside of the clamshell case. No hang-tab though

UPC matches the UPC for Canadian releases. Has european languages on it to comply with laws in Quebec that say (said?) products need to be written in French and English. Says Genesis. It is Canadian.
The manual for the cardboard release should be a regular Genesis manual. Printed in Taiwan.

I think that these had a short run, this one seems very hard to come by. I been collecting Canadian for awhile and this seldom shows up. I would agree with everything said before, looks like you got a cardboard version cart in with a canadian box manual.
