Marko's Magic Football all bought up?

Noticed 12 copies of Marko's Magic Football were bought today off eBay at the same time. A little weird but I assume it could be someone wanting to hoard these or a variety of diffrent reasons.

  • How much did they go for? If they were very cheap they might want to try and resell to make some money or use them for their cases?

$5-$13 from cart only to complete. If you search Marko now nothing US is left to buy.
  • A person or two has been doing this with several Nintendo items, mostly NES, trying to raise the price. I can't imagine anybody thinking this would work on a non-Nintendo item.
  • Well, I've been watching eBay pretty closely the last couple of weeks/month+ and I can't recall seeing many newly listed copies. Maybe cart-only stuff, but as it is a game I don't have I would have added it to my watch list if a reasonable copy were ever listed. Also gone on amazon.com and half.com, who knows it could see an increase in value depending on how slowly they get listed.
  • Maybe someone is buying them to make a repro?

For that kind of money? At that point wouldn't it just be cheaper to have your own boards made and shipped from over seas?
  • Maybe he is like the shaq fu guy, out to destroy them all. For thoes that don't know what I'm talking about, a year ago someone had a bonfire that destroyed a whole lot of them snes shaq-er-roo's. I think at one point he had a website dedicated to it but I can't seem to find it anymore.
  • I remember that. There was also a save the Shaq Fu website at the same time but we know which one won.
  • Ok now Marko's back! But just more pricey!

Check sellers feedback, this is the dude who bought them all and now it's one of the "TOP 15 rarity Genesis games" lol!

Interestingly enough same dude who bought up all those Championship Madden's recently too, I thought those all went quickly at those prices.

  • The same guy actually messaged me on eBay to ask if I still had another copy of my Australian silver version that I sold.

What got in this dude's head that he could make money flipping Marko's and Madden's?? I'm sure it wasn't anything ever discussed here..
  • And to think there are people who deny the existence of price gouging resellers!
  • I noticed this too. He just got a CIB copy of Devilish off me. That's your next top 15 rare in the making...
  • ^I almost bought your copy of Devilish. It was a good price. Didn't realize you were a member here.

    I'm sneaky. I hide a lot.

You should have picked it up, it was really nice!
  • Uniquegameseller just listed another one of the 12+ Marko's he bought, but this one includes a nifty SEGA case and is $5 bucks cheaper! I guess the seller wasn't looking to sit on them too long, wanted to do a quick flip which makes even less sense. Lol, come on guys!! This guy needs help moving his inventory!
  • this game actually is pretty fun. i've been playing the last couple days.

and is this really a genesis exclusive in the US?
  • Now he has listed one of those Madden's he bought for $200, I guess I should have posted this in seller silliness!
  • Ultimate Qix as well it seems.
  • Just an update, uniquegameseller has renamed his eBay account alinktothepastzz.

I've noticed that viewing completed listings, some copies of Marko have sold for a lot (via BIN), but it is unclear if they are legitimate purchases or not. Two copies for $100 (one from unique) and another of his for $50. The $50 one might be legit. A seller from Japan that always sells super minty stuff sold a copy for $50 and I have no doubt that was a real sale.

I'm bummed to see that a Marko manual was posted online and sold for $7.50. I just want to complete my copy and avoid this pricing mess.
