Doom 32X prototype

I bought this supposed prototype and got it yesterday. Here are some facts about it:



- Got it from a guy who said he bought it off DreamTR

- It looks like the same one featured in articles found on www.gamesniped.com and www.videogameauctions.com.



I wish I could post pics and provide links, but I'm on my xbox. I can do it later when I get the time.



Anyway, here are some things about this proto that I've noticed:



- It isn't any prototype listed on the Doom wiki

- There is no picture of the Doomguy before the main menu

- The main menu takes a few seconds to load or a little short if buttons are pressed

- The demo plays, but only the HUD and sounds are present. The rest is black.

- The main menu options are the same as the final version

- I haven't tested every level on every difficulty, but every time I start a game only the HUD and sounds are present. The rest is black like the demo at the main menu.

-If I hold the A button and press Start, my ammo goes to 0 and if I press those buttons again my ammo returns.



Can anyone tell me if it's real or not?

    Does anyone know how I can determine the date on this?

    I'd just pm DreamTR and ask him if he sold it to that guy.

    I'm gonna say this is a real proto. When I'm able to dump this rom, I'll record it and upload it to youtube. I should be able to find a date in the rom's data when I dump it, if my logic is right.

    Don't some of chips on the baord have the date, I think I remember someone saying most carts had dates inside. I could be totally wrong, but I could swear I heard that.
