Value Village find

I got LTTP for 17.99 and Super Mario World for 9.99. I'm pretty sure all the papers are in them but both are missing the cardboard insert. Can anyone tell me what these might be worth?

  • I tried posting the pics but it's not working for some reason.
  • so these were with boxes and manuals?
  • I never find anything there at all.
  • Value village has treated me pretty well in my area.
  • Ya they are with boxes and manual. LTTP has the top secrets and map and Mario world has a poster and a couple other papers.

ditto; last week, I shit you not, I found a Canon EF 17-40mm wide angle lens w/ hood at the VV closest to me! This is no joke. It's in great shape, worth about $400-500.

And about a mile from me, at another VV, I found the CIB chrono trigger from a couple months ago. Miracles do happen!

And OP, I'm not up on these prices but I think you did just fine

  • which Mario world? If its the black box one and the box is nice thats a hella score.
  • Ryan I'm pretty sure this is the black box one no?

Really?? Any idea what it's worth?
  • Hard to see but the box is the key on Mario World.

Looks nice to me from here. If its Minty you should be able to snag $150 ish

Sweet! The pic is actually a bit deceiving, I'd say the box is around 7/10. I'll take a few more pics later on of close ups once I'm home from work.
  • Closer to $100 then..

Cool man thanks for your help
  • Nice score bud! I find games at Value Village all the time but nothing extremely rare yet. I haven't found any systems. My friend last year found 6 sealed copies of Talespin for $5.99 each. I wish I was there at that time. lol It is possible to find rare titles but it's all about timing and being at the right spot at the right time. I bought 2 of his Talespins!
  • Thanks man, I usually check VV once or twice a week. When I got those two games the kid working there said someone came a little earlier than me and cleared out most the games they had. I rarely ever find anything but I did pass up a watermelon 64 with controller for 16.99 not sure why but I kind o regret it now.
  • My rule of thumb on the n64 stuff is if it's with a controller that is 1st party (not 3rd party junker), and has all the hookups, most times it's worth your while to snag it at a thrift store/value village.

Also Jezdo: if you're interested in just selling that Mario World box, let me know! I could use an upgrade over my old one... I bet we can work something out.
  • Yeah that Mario is a solid score. Nice find!
  • Mario World really makes that one hell of a find. Whether you plan to keep it or not. I would have loved to get mine for $10
  • Does anyone knew anything about this thing? Picked it up for 2 bucks at Value Village. Haven't seen one of these before was wondering if anyone here knows if it's worth anything.

  • It is a cleaning kit.

    Not worth much
  • That cleaning kit needs a cleaning kit!
  • I used to go nes hunting at the Value Village in Anchorage, Alaska (Northern Light Blvd. store) and very seldom would find anything. This was about a year and a half ago. I learned why after asking three employees if they ever came across them. Two of the employees said to me, "dude, there is gold in the games, you can scrape off the contacts and get gold!" The third employee turned out to be a collector, so then I knew where donations went...not out on the store shelves. Then I moved to the lower 48 and where I live, Value Village is 'Savers'. This store has employees hide systems and games in the back, I mean, they even hide this stuff from each other and sell it on craigslist or ebay, or sometimes they just take it home. I have found some awesome deals from these big time thrift stores but more often than not, the stuff comes in...you just don't see it.
  • I see the same shit over here in the netherlands.. You have to know people or you get fucked
  • Same thing at a Savers near where I live. An employee mentioned in idle chat that the teenage employees hold the good gaming stuff in back until a parent/friend can come by to buy it for them.
