Frogger Question

I'm a huge Frogger fan, and I was curious as to why this game was never ported to the NES. I looked it up on Wikipedia and it seems to be ported for every single other system out there, but got totally skipped for the NES. Makes me sad because it's one of my favorite games, and I can't play it on my favorite system. Someone should totally homebrew a port. Somehow. image

  • Sounds like a good project for Al Bailey. He already has his next one planned though, but I will let him announce what that is image

  • That is funny it has been made for every other system \. maybe they couldnt get the rights to put it on a nes cart at the time
  • Frogger and Space Invaders would be neat homebrew games....
  • ^ Space Invaders already had a Famicom release.
  • I'd be totally willing to put time and effort into making this happen if someone more knowledgable could take the reigns and help me help them. image
  • I know for a while there Sega had the licensing rights to Frogger, coupled with the fact it was Konami's property, who wouldn't have been too keen on Sega whoring it out to a third party to port to the Famicom like other properties (Shinobi, Altered Beast, etc.)
  • Frogger for the NES..... Ohh my wife would be soo happy...

But then again, she would probably never let me play the Nintendo again, either...

I myself would love Frogger and Space Invaders, a two in one cart..  That would be awesome...

  • Maybe bunnyboy can help with this project. I would definitely buy a Frogger NES cart. And it sounds like there are more who would too.
